Meanwhile, Shion had calmed down during the ride home, even though she had embedded the memory of the two powerful entities she had encountered into her mind, knowledge for use at a later date.
Now she was home, and it was late. Jeanne was taking her sweet time in the shower, leaving the Night Witch by herself in her room.
While Shion unpacked her clothes from the shopping bags and moved them into the closet, she came to realize how oddly natural it felt now. Before, all she had done was sling her traveling bag to one side. Whenever she stayed somewhere, it would be brief, considering that she was always on the run and always on the hunt.
The past month had changed her. It was subtle, but even she could not be oblivious to it any longer. However, the Night Witch had no inkling of what that change might even be.
