Luckily the walk over to the cafe was short. Not that it was filled with awkward silence because Clara wouldn't shut up to Tyler. He just seemed to enjoy seeing her happy and would occasionally laugh with her when she said something embarrassing.
Once we walk into our usual cafe place. Clara goes up and orders with Tyler, while Josh and I go off to find a table. "Is Clara usually this energetic?" He asks once we've sat down, I nod and go to take out my notepad. "Are you fine with me asking all these questions? You just seem interesting" He asks sweetly. I nod and doodle out a little cake and write 'Happy Birthday' in weird writing. He smiles and starts to find more about me.
A few questions in and Tyler and Clara return with drinks and food. "So I asked our manager about the tickets and he's fine with it" Tyler mentions casually making Clara freak out. 'You'll get used to her eventually' I scribble down quickly. "How long is eventually?" Josh asks curiously of how long I've had to deal with her energeticness. 'Few months' I reply.
As time goes on, I sketch randomly. Clara and Tyler are discussing travelling the world and places where they want to go or loved. While I feel left out. Clara usually involves me in some way but I guess she's too distracted. I do understand why.
"You okay?" Josh writes on an empty space. I nod, not really looking up from the paper. "I know what it feels like to be different or left out as well," He writes. That's when I look up into his eyes. He looks concerned, I'm not sure why though. 'I'm fine, just tired' I half lie. I was woken early from the postman. I still need to decide what I'm doing about those plane tickets. But I'll leave that for another day.
"You like to draw?" Josh asks out loud. I nod and hand him the book to flip through. I notice his smile and I wonder what he found that is that interesting. I look over confused and he shows me a sketch of him and Tyler playing their instruments. "Hey this is actually really cool" He compliments before showing Clara and Tyler. I blush lightly and smile.
"Oh you like Fall Out Boy and Panic and My Chemical Romance," He says after flicking through and seeing drawings associated with those bands. I nod and he returns the book to me.
The next few hours are filled with random questions and a lot of food. At some time Josh thought it was a good idea to see how any ice cubes he could fit in his mouth. Let's just say it ended up with blood and salvia over the table.
"Well we should probably get going before the manager starts to be worried that someone has kidnapped us" Tyler sighs. "But I should probably get your numbers so I can tell you any detail about the tickets, just don't be creepy and give out our numbers to anyone" He adds before taking Clara's phone. "Oh yeah, I should probably do the same" Josh says slightly awkwardly.
"Well I hope to see you two at the concert, cya guys" Tyler smiles before walking in the opposite direction with Josh.
"Well that was an interesting day" Clara laughs. I nod, agreeing. That was definitely not what I expected the day to be like when I woke up this morning.
"Let's just skip dinner tonight, we'll go next week" She sighs tiredly. I didn't realise how tired I was until now. "Well, I'm gonna head off home to go sleep for a week or so" She yawns, sharing my interest in sleep right now.
I nod and she gives me a short hug before walking off in the direction of her apartment.
Just as she disappears into the distance, I feel my phone vibrate lightly in my pocket. As I'm walking up the stairs of the building, I see that's it's from Josh. 'Thanks for the albums and not laughing at me when I split my lip open'. I smile and unlock the door.
I don't even manage to reply before my phone shuts down. I decide to do the same and recharge my sleep. Hopefully not to be woken by a stupid postman early in the morning.
