Are You Scared Yet? Part 3

Hearing Voices

I walked upstairs with an uncertainty that Smiles had still forgotten who we were.

"Its your doctor." I said lightly knocking on his room door.

"Come in."

"And your nurse is here." Ceta said.

"My who?" Smiles said puzzled.

Ceta sighs. "Nevermind."

"How are you feeling today Smile's, do you feel any different from yesterday?" I said before sitting down at the edge of his bed.

"I still feel the same." He said coughing. "But there's something new. I hear voices in my head."

"Voices?" I asked.

Nods. "Yes voices!"

I feel like he might not understand what he's saying, so I ask him again. "You hear voices like people's voices?"

"How many times do I have to say it? Yes!"

This is new. First, he forgets my true identity and now he hears voices. Just great!

Sits up in bed. "Would you like to know what they said?"

"Sure."

It turned more into a story.

"When I was a little kid the voices said that I lived here in this house."

He stopped telling the story, not sure if he should say more.

"Go ahead Smile's." I urged him.

Coughing. "I'm going to need your help, because I'm losing my voice." Smiles said reaching for a pen or a pencil underneath his pillow.

He wrote out the rest of the story in sloppy handwriting, then handed the paper with snot to me.

"What do you want me to do with this?"

"Narrate all the parts that are underlinded."

I glanced over the paper and saw what he was talking about. The parts that were underlined were a woman's voice.

Laughing nervously. "I don't think I'm cut out for this anymore."

Then I left the room to catch my breath.

Ceta chased after me. "What the hell is your problem? You bird brain!"

I lowered my eye's.

Her word's cut me deeply. "He's finally opening up to us and you just go and ruin it. I thought you were tired playing this game."

Look I am it's just everything's happening so fast."

"You're right Asia. I'm sorry I can't keep forcing you to move on. I just need to be there for you." Ceta said hugging me. "Let's go home."

"But first let's tell him that he's getting better." I added. "To give him some kind of hope."

Smile's P.O.V.

"Why do I feel like I know this girl?" Smile's said to himself as Asia smiled waving goodbye.

*Flashback*

Would you like to stay here forever right?"

"Yes it's been wonderful being able to have no curfew, or choices being made for me." Asia said happily

"Good because I was wondering if tonight we could hangout together alone... maybe." I grinned.

"Sure what are we going to do." Asia said curiously as this was her first time I've been alone talking to her.

"It's a secret. You'll find out later tonight." I said laughing.

"Okay Smiles." Asia managed to say without seeming too excited.

*Flashback ended*

The glass of water shatters in my hand. "Asia!"

Asia's P.O.V

"I'm a genuis!" I shouted jumping into Ceta's bed.

"How so?"

"Look I figured this isn't just some story Smile's was telling us. He was telling us his childhood."

"Whoa".
