Chapter 20 - Unsafe

Aaron and Kalen stayed up all night talking. It was as if a new friendship was made but as one was loss. It felt different and strange talking to her suppose mortal enemy but who could stop her? Jace seemed to think he had it all.

Aaron sighed, standing up making his way over to the door frame. "Look, its about 1 o clock..you better head to sleep." With a smile, he closed her door and walked out.

Kalen layed back down rolling over on her soft bed and just lke that, she fell asleep.

She ran through the forest, her wind whipping her hair. She looked back and saw the Hunters chasing after her, skillful and persistant. Quickly, she unsealthed a dagger and shot it at them, missing entierly. She ran deeper and stopped in the clearing. The Hunters were there, raising all of their guns pointing at her. One turned and she saw a face of the one she loved. "Jace?" She asked.

Kalen woke up with a jolt, shivering with the content of her dream. She rubbed her forehead repeatly, feeling the sweat matted on top. She tilited her head to the clock and saw it was 2am. She swung both her legs to the side of the bed and stood up and quickly walking out of the bedroom door.

She ran down stairs grabbing her coat and hurrying at the door. Her barefeet touched the cool forest dew. She walked to the lake and sat down, seeing her self. She had long brestlengh fiery red hair and dark brown eyes. Sighing, she pulled her jacket to her amrs, shivering from the upcoming winter weather.

A snap of a twig, broke her reality as she quickly stood up and looked around. A whoosh of air moved her head towards a tree where an arrow stuck out. She gasped at the upcoming stranger.

There was Renee and Dustin, who held there hands tightly together looking up at hatred at her. Renee came first, flitting up to her, pinning her to the ground.

"You told me not to dance with humans but your already dancing with one." She joked as she kicked Renee in the chest with free feet. Renee jumped back and got a fighting stance.

Dustin just stood there, his mind dazed full of memories of Kalen, but that wouldnt stop him. She was a supernatural.

Kalen ran towards her sending her a punch in Renee's direction who blocked with ease and spun Kalen's arm around. Without hesitation, her fangs came out and her eyes turned a dark red as she gazed hatefully at Renee.

"Dustin! Wake up! We have to kill her!" She shouted as Kalen gracefully kicked her in the side, jolting her back.

Renee pounced on Kalen like a tiger would on their prey. "You were the vampire who killed Mr. Wright!"

Renee scoffed but got up and pinned Kalen roughly into a tree. Her fangs were bare and her eyes were a striiking red. "Oh, honey. What made you figure that out?"

Kalen laughed, ignoring the fact that she wpinned square to a tree. "Well, your boyfriend certainly made an impression!"

Dustin approached Kalen and Renee, his arrow notched and aimed at Kalen. Was he going soft? He was dating a vampire but killing one? It didnt make any sense to him at all. Kalen was held to the tree by a choking hand on her neck.

"Shoot her already!" Renee barked.

His hand shook in the nitch, not sure of making a direct hit. Dustin let go off the arrow but when he looked up. Kalen had dissappeared leaving an angry Renee. "Why?" She asked sadly not wanting love for his choices.

Dustin shook his head and ran quickly away, only to be faced with Renee once more. "Dustin, im so sorry I have to do this." She said solemnly and broke his neck.

He fell into a world of darkness, spinning in his wake. It was cold and frigid where he was, isloated from the world.

Renee glared at Dustin before biting his neck of the sweet blood stored in his neck. Before she knew, he was drained dry of his blood. she stood up. paitently waiting for the gasp.
