"Raiyne!"

The knocking came louder and I groaned.

"Leave me alone!" I yelled at the door.

The doorknob jiggled and two weights settled at the end of my bed.

"Holy shit, disaster zone." Matt mumbled.

"Get out!" I said, pulling the covers over my head.

"Come out of hiding." Gabe laughed.

"I will kick both of your asses if you don't leave." I complained.

"Just talk to us." They said together.

"I would rather not."

"I'll tickle you." Gabe threatened.

"Go ahead." I replied, burying farther.

Two hands pulled the covers, another two grabbed my ankles and pulled me from the bed, hanging me upside down.

"I hate you." I mumbled, pulling my upper body up.

"You were an Avalanche girl!" They yelled.

"Someone kill me."

"How come I never recognized you?" Matt said, placing me on the ground and grabbing my face.

"Maybe because I gave a fuck and now I don't." I replied, twisting his wrists and pushing him backwards.

"Why do you have such a bad attitude?" Gabe asked.

"Because cocky athletes piss me off, I've dealt with enough of them to know they are all the same. So how about you pretty boys get the fuck out of my room?" I said, opening the door.

I was pressed against the wall quickly, blue eyes boring into mine.

"Gabriel Landeskog get the hell off of me." I said coldly.

"One date, and I'll show you we are all different." He smirked.

"Fine, tonight. Oh, and you only have one shot Landy, don't blow it." I said, slamming the door behind both guys.

--

I pulled on the mid thigh midnight blue dress, my hair neatly tied into a French braid and the black lip stud caught between my teeth as I pulled at it nervously.

"Get a hold of yourself." I growled at my reflection, grabbing my shoes and tramping down the stairs.

"Raiyne I called you five minutes ago." Carmin complained.

"Yeah I heard you, I couldn't find my bra so I stole yours." I smiled, hopping on one foot to put on the heels.

"Good evening Raiyne." Gabe smirked from the doorway.

"You could have warned me." I growled.

"I did, five minutes ago." She replied. "Now have fun and I gave him permission to dump you in a pond if you're a bitch. Love you, buh bye."

I stumbled, grabbing Gabe's arm for support as I was shoved out the door. I straightened, then roamed his body for a moment, the dress pants and shirt fit well, his easy going smirk still on his face.

"You look handsome." I nodded, smiling lightly as he opened the door to the car.

"You look beautiful as well." He replied smoothly, starting the car.

"So, where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see." He taunted.

--

The easy conversation lasted us to the restaurant and Gabe's soothing smile kept my nerves at bay as I slipped my arm through his.

The hostess lead us to a table and I played with the napkin infront of me as Gabe sat down.

"Nervous?" He asked.

"Maybe a little." I confessed.

"Awe come on, I'm not that bad." He smirked.

"You actually aren't." I told him, smirking and looking at the menu to hide my flaming cheeks.

--

"Why are you doing that?" He asked.

"Doing what?" I returned the question.

"The lip thing." He replied.

"Oh, habit. Sorry." I stated, letting the stud fall from between my teeth.

"So Raiyne, why are you in Colorado?"

"I wanted a change, wanted away. It seemed at enough." I replied, stabbing the salad infront of me.

"What are you running from, if that's ok to ask."

"Not running, escaping. My family isn't exactly happy with me, I'm not the perfect daughter." I said quietly.

"Why do you think that?" Gabe seemed genuinely concerned.

"Mom wanted the home coming queen, dad wanted the kick ass athlete, my brother wanted someone his friends wouldn't try and fuck around with and I wanted a way out." I said quietly. "And I feel extremely bad telling you about this."

"Hey, don't be." He smiled, reaching and brushing a stray hair from my face.

"So Captain, why do you want to know?" I asked.

"I'm just curious, is that a crime?" Gabe laughed.

"I guess not."

--

"Thank you, really it was fun." I smiled, opening the door.

"Raiyne?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

He pulled me back down, brushed his lips over mine lightly then let me go.

"Good night." He smirked.

I nodded, then closed the door trying my best not to run to the front door. Instead I calmly opened it, re closed it and then leaned on the banister to the stairs.

"So how was it?" Carmin asked.

"Carmin, he's perfect." I mumbled, jogging up the stairs.

This was trouble, trouble that I wanted and invited with open arms.
