"Let's go!" Me and Aaron yelled at the same time, drum rolling on the glass infront of us.

The whole team looked behind them and gave us funny looks, I just stuck out my tongue and pointed to the ice.

--

We all waited near the back, the guys were slowly but surely coming out.

"Way to go boys." I laughed, tossing the puck Tyson had chucked over the glass at him. "But it's not nice to hit people with pucks."

He laughed, put me over a shoulder and dumped me into a snowbank, "Was that better?"

I shivered and packed a snowball together, hitting him square in the chest.

"That felt pretty good." I laughed.

"Come on Raiyne." Aaron laughed.

"Where are you guys staying?" Gabe asked.

"We are getting a hotel." My mom informed him.

"How about you stay at the house?" Matt offered.

"We really don't want to impose." Mom started.

"Mom, you and dad can have my room." I started.

"Aaron can have my room." Gabe nodded.

"And you both will stay where?" My dad asked.

"Matt has an extra bed." Gabe stated.

"I have a blow up mattress I'll sleep on." I added. "Plus it's only for one night."

--

I grabbed an extra comforter and pillow, tossing it on the blown up mattress near the window before crawling off of it into the hallway.

"Are you sure you're ok in that room?" Mom asked as both guys gave small waves and disappeared into the room.

"Yeah, no biggie. It's like a slumber party." I laughed.

She wrapped me in a hug and then knocked on the door, "Is it safe?"

Laughter was heard and then a pair of 'yeahs' as I swung the door open, "What are you gonna do mom, tuck me in?"

My mom was the same height as me, built the same with a fiery attitude, her wild brown hair to match her snapping blue eyes. At 44 she looked like she was still 24 like when she had me.

"Do you want me to?" She asked, pulling me onto the bed with her. "So which one of these boys is it Raiyne?"

I raised a brow and leaned back on my elbows, "What are you talking about mom?"

"Don't play stupid, it's not cute on you." Mom scolded. "The blonde isn't it. Sorry honey, what's your name again?"

"Gabriel." Gabe said smoothly.

"I mean, it could be Matt but you've always had a thing for those baby blues Raiyne."

I rolled my eyes and tossed a pillow over my face.

"You're lucky Ray."

"No I'm not cause if dad or Aaron finds out I'm gonna be locked in a room and his face is gonna be rearranged." I groaned. "Why do you think I never brought a guy around?"

"Raiyne you can stand up against your brother and your dad, they are more afraid of you than anything." Mom laughed.

"She is kinda scary." Matt laughed.

"Who asked you Duchene?" I laughed.

"Raiyne Alexandria Spears." Mom snapped.

"Alexandria, that's cute." Gabe laughed.

"Dude I'll punch you." I warned.

"And I used to wonder why you didn't wanna be a pageant person." Mom smirked.

"Yeah, me in a huge frilly pink dress." I shuddered and she punched my shoulder.

"Ray, where's the bathroom?" Aaron asked.

"Two doors down on your left."

He nodded, then left the doorway. The room was quiet and I closed my eyes as my mom ran her fingers through my hair, and I sighed lightly.

"I miss you being home." Mom whispered.

"I know."

I felt her move, and I peeked an eye open. She walked to the door and glared at the three of us, pointing at Gabe.

"Keep my baby girl safe." She smirked.

"Promise." He laughed.

The door clicked closed behind her and I pulled off my sweater, tossing it beside the bed before checking my phone. Carmin had caught a picture before the game, Gabe had me on the toes of his skates and I was still too small to look him in the eyes. I laughed lightly and plugged it in, then stood and kissed each guys cheek.

"Night Matt, night Gabe."

"Night Raiyne." They laughed.

--

I rolled over again, this time feeling two arms wrap my waist and pull me into a bed.

"Better?" Gabe mumbled.

I nodded resting my head in the crook of his neck and wrapping a arm around his waist, pressing my full body to him and kissing his collarbone, knowing I had an impact on him as I ran my hand down his chest and across his waistband.

"Night babe." I whispered.

--

I slipped from bed, then made my way to the kitchen turning on the radio as I went and pulling my hair into a messy ponytail.

I made all the eggs and bacon we had, dished it all out and poured orange juice before going around and waking everyone up. My mom was surprised and my dad ruffled my hair as they sat and dug in.

"My sister the chef." Aaron teased.

"Remember when you set the microwave on fire?" Dad asked.

"That was a disaster." I replied, finishing my eggs.

Dad checked his watch and pushed back from the table, gathering his dirty dishes and then leaning on the chair.

"We gotta head home." He blurted.

"Sam-" Mom began.

"Now, we are gonna miss the plane." He stated, running a hand through his buzzed hair.

"You just got here!" I protested, my knife coming down on my plate hard, shattering it.

"I know but we have to go."

Aaron looked between the two of us and stood silently, "We'll see you later Ray." He whispered, wrapping me in a sudden hug. "He misses you."

I stood still, "What's your problem?!"

"My little girl is growing up and I can't be here any longer." Dad blurted. "Hell, half these guys look at you like you're a fucking Barbie doll and I can't handle it anymore. Call me before you're first game."

I raised my brows and tossed my fork at the wall stopping him in his tracks, "Suck it up dad, I'm 20 years old!"

"But you're still my little girl Raiyne."

Then he left the house, the door slamming shut behind him. Mom pulled me into a hug and Aaron ruffled my hair like usual, then grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Do what you do best, kick ass and show them what a real girl is made out of. Take no shit from anyone Raiyne, that's the baby sister I know." He smiled.

"I play to be remembered." I stated.

"Burn it into their minds."

"Like I would settle for anything less."

"Thatta girl."

I shook my head and pecked mom's cheek, "I can't believe I am saying this but, you are tougher than any guy on that ice. I raised a hell bound daughter, stay stubborn and aim for your dreams, you can do it."

"Thank you mom." I whispered.

"Now kick ass, your a Spears." She laughed.

I nodded and then collapsed back into a chair as I heard the door close behind them, folding my arms on the table and burying my head in them.

"Now I see where you get it." Tyson laughed.

"Not in the mood." I groaned.

I could hear Gabe laugh and then a hand on my back, "You gonna be ok?"

"Eventually."
