I laid with my feet over the arm of the couch bored out of my mind, Gabe have been gone for two weeks. I decided it was time to go to bed and I crawled in, too lazy to change clothes.
--
"Raiyne." I heard, a hand shaking my shoulder.
"Hm?" I asked groggily.
"Babe, wake up."
I rolled over, opening my bleary eyes.
"Gabe, aren't you supposed to be in Atlanta?" I mumbled.
"No, I took the first plane back. Now move over I'm frozen." He said, lifting the covers and slipping in.
His cold hands pulled me to him and I shivered.
"Holy shit." I gasped, pulling the sweater I had fallen asleep in closer to my body.
"Yeah I know, but you're a freaking space heater." He mumbled, holding me tight.
I curled into him.
"Dammit, I missed you." He whispered.
"I know, cause I missed you too." I replied.
"Raiyne," He started.
"Hm?"
"Be my girlfriend, please." He sounded desperate, and vulnerable.
I nodded, closing my eyes as he sighed.
"Night Gabe."
"Night beautiful."
--
I stumbled into the dressing room, still half asleep.
"Hey Raiyne, surprise Avs girl." Carmin smirked.
"We are over that." I said.
"No, they want you back." She laughed, holding out a uniform.
"Carmin, I'm over it." I growled.
"Put the damn thing on, and here is some make up. Fix your face."
--
I walked back out, my skates hanging off my fingertips my hair in the regulation ponytail.
"I see why you were an Avs girl." Ryan said, eyeing me.
"I'm still capable of ripping your vocal chords from your throat." I warned.
"What's up with the lip ring?" Carmin asked.
"I'm not taking it out!" I argued.
She walked up, ripping the shirt farther so the v-neck dipped lower.
"Come on, you have to live up to your rep." She teased.
"Give me the black eyeliner." I said.
I made my eyes darker, then flipped my hair around before turning back to the group.
"Thoughts?" I asked.
They tilted their heads, opening their mouths then shook their heads.
"Oh yeah, you need a player." She said.
"You're kidding me right?" I asked, my face blushing red as I tied my skates.
"Aren't you supposed to wear figure skates?" Gabe asked.
"Fuck that." I replied.
--
I skated out, icing the first person I saw, which happened to be Sarah my old coach.
"She's back." She laughed.
"Forced against my will." I told her.
"Ok, show me the dance." She said, nodding to the rink.
--
I collapsed against the boards, the whole team had gathered in the box and I stretched every inch of my body.
"I don't have to tell you that you made it, just try and be on time ok?" Sarah asked. "And keep the guys from falling on their faces, it's distracting."
--
I laid on the dressing room floor, too lazy to move and too sore as well.
"Someone shoot me." I groaned.
"You're too cute to shoot." Matt laughed.
A sweater landed on my face and I put it under my head, closing my eyes.
"You sleep all the time." Gabe whined.
"Cause I'm tired all the time." I replied.
"Get dressed." He laughed.
--
I rested my head on the seat, closing my eyes as Gabe drove to where ever he was going.
"I didn't sleep well." I confessed.
"Why?"
"Too busy thinking." I replied, staring out the window.
"You seem tense."
"I am, I don't wanna be a damn Avs girl. I wanted out and now I'm back in." I groaned.
"Hey, you get to spend more time with me on game days." He reasoned.
"I already spend enough time with you." I teased.
"Oh that's just mean." He laughed. "If it means anything, the uniform is cute."
"Gabriel Landeskog, don't even bring that up." I laughed as well.
Gabe POV
Adrianna was also an Avs girl, and I couldn't stop thinking about that. I didn't want her causing shit for Raiyne, and I couldn't exactly tell Raiyne about Adrianna either.
I just laughed along with her, and peaked out of the corner of my eye at her mesmerizing blue eyes and hypnotic smile.
I couldn't let anything happen to Raiyne, she was the girl that I wanted around, the girl that I was falling for. Everything about her invited me in, and if I hurt her, it would hurt me too.
"You look like you're thinking." She murmured.
"Maybe I am." I replied.
"You should stop, you're creasing your eyebrows. You look mad." She laughed.
"Not mad, happy actually." I smiled.
"Good, cause I'm happy too." Raiyne nodded, turning back to the window.
I just laughed, and drove home not being able to wait much longer to have her in my arms where she belonged.
