I grabbed a ball that I had kept in my bag and tossed it on the on the ground, then grabbed my new stick and started flicking it around, the mechanical clicking of the golf ball and fibre glass creating a rhythm. Without thinking I glanced up and flicked my wrist catching Gabe's glove and watching it tumble to his lap.

"Nice aim." He laughed.

"Well, I try." I laughed.

Gabe shook his head and tossed the ball at me, I flicked it up with my stick and then used my whole body to shoot it into Nathan's helmet.

"Ehhh, she shoots she scores, Raiyne Spears takes team Canada to the golden game!" I cheered, tossing my stick up along with my arms.

Matt spun me in a circle, "Raiyne Spears, the first female to play on the men's hockey team, oh wait, Crosby was."

I laughed and high fived him, "Best words that ever came out of your mouth."

He raised a brow and then dipped his lips towards my ear, "Your clothes on my floor, with you begging my name. Think about that." Then he stepped back.

"You ass face." I laughed, punching his shoulder.

He shrugged, "Oops."

My phone blared and I reached to pick it up, the speaker automatically ringing out.

"Hello." I said sweetly.

"Miss Raiyne Spears?"

"Yes, that is me." I laughed.

"You have been chosen for the men's Canadian Olympic team." The man spoke from the other end and I tossed my phone onto the table and swallowed a yell before picking it back up.

"Thank you, that's a huge honour." I blurted.

"Is there a number you would prefer?" He asked.

"14, please." I replied.

"We will see you in Sochi, congratulations Miss Spears."

"Thank you."

The line then went dead, and I tossed my phone at my bag, my hands shaking as I tossed my arms up and danced in place.

"I'M PART OF THE OLYMPIC CANADIAN TEAM!" I yelled, grabbing Gabe's shoulders and shaking him so his teeth rattled. "GABRIEL LANDESKOG DO YOU HEAR WHAT I AM TELLING YOU!?"

"The whole state knows what you're saying." Matt laughed.

"MEN'S OLYMPIC TEAM! I AM GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE MEN'S OLYMPIC TEAM!" I exclaimed, shaking Gabe again.

"You're giving me a headache." He stated.

"OLYMPICS!"

"WE KNOW!" Nathan yelled.

I tossed my hands up again, then launched myself at my phone, dialling the first number that popped into my head, and it rang and rang.

"It's Carmin, text me you have a better chance at an answer, and if it's Raiyne, I love you." Her voice flooded the room and my heart jumped.

"I'm doing this for you." I whispered.

I set my phone down, and then looked in the mirror, tilting my head to the side.

"I'm doing this for her, I'm going to be me, for her." I leaned on the table facing the team. "I'm my own worst enemy, I have to beat my enemy. I'm doing this to prove I'm just as good as everyone in this room. I'm doing this so I can feel strong, and empowered and not reliant on someone. I'm doing this because I need to feel close to her again. I'm doing this, because I am a Colorado Avalanche, and because you guys are the closest things I have left."
