I rushed down the staircase as fast as I could, fearing that I had already missed Dumbledore's introduction, I probably even missed the sorting ceremony. Harry and Ron would be wondering where I was by now. I reached the magnificent doors that reached the ceiling, and peeked my head inside the dining hall. The door creaked loudly, to my unfortunate surprise. Every eye in the room, at that moment, was on me. The only thing I could think to do was to run in and sqeeze in next to Ron. Professor Mcgonagall, and every other wizard attending Hogwarts this year, now knew that I had been late to arrive the ceremony. My head tilted down and my cheeks felt red. Dumbledore had been mid sentence, so he just finished like nothing had happened, probably to make me feel a bit better. "Where were you?" Harry asked me from across the table after the applause subsided. "I got... side tracked with something. I just lost track of time," I lie. "Your a terrible liar Hermione," Ron said. My face was hot. I filled my plate with food to pre occupy myself for the time being. "So, Harry, how has your year been going so far?" I asked him. "I've been meaning to tell you," Harry began, chicken pracitically falling out of his mouth. "I'm sure whatever it is can wait until you've finished chewing," I scold. Harry chews and swallows then takes a sip of water. "I've been doing some research, about, you know," he starts, "horcruxes." he whispers the last part. "Me too. I checked out a few books in the restricted section of the library. It turns out that horcruxes must be destroyed in order to kill the host. So, the dark lord is't exactly un-beatable," I tell both Harry and Ron. "Right, so maybe we should call together Dumbledore's army again," Ron says, stuffing his face with potatoes and gravy. "Absalutely not Ron!" I yell. Ron chokes on his food at the sound of my shrill yelling in his ear. "What'd you do that for?!" he yells back. "Sorry," I say, putting my hand on his back. "Anyways, it wasn't that bad of an idea. We should tell them," Ron confirms. "No way. That kind of information isn't something to be telling large groups of people. Besides, we can't trust anyone but each other from now on. Not even our professors," I say, pushing my plate away. I've lost my appetite all together. "I agree with Hermione. We can't trust anyone, and we can't be going around sharing that which information that means the difference between life and death," Harry chimes in. "Sorry," Ron says into his food. After a long rest of the night I finally part ways with Harry and Ron and walk upstairs to my room. I take off my itchy clothes and replace them with a plain white silk nightgown. My room is cold, so I add an extra quilt to my bed, and climb in after washing my face and brushing my teeth. The night is filled with sounds of laughter and talking, and every once and a while someone walks past my door quite loudly. But I fall asleep, rather quickly to my surprise. That night, I dream of my parents, but when I wake the next morning, I can't place if it was a good dream or a bad one.

Authors Note: Hi! So I know this chapter was pretty boring, as the first one was, but don't worry. I'm working on the plotline and the basic idea right now. I have some of the ideas and a whole markup of the next few chapters saved to my computer, I'm still working on getting those to you. Please share this with anyone who may be interested, I would majorly appriciate it! Again, Draco will come into the picture soon, but It might be a few days before I can get the next chapter up, since I have a lot going on right now. Ok, now we're at that awkward stage in the AN when it becomes longer than the chapter. :) Ok, thats all!
