The next thing I knew I was standing outside. Everything was slow motion. People were running and screaming and there was a building on fire. I was the only one who wasn't moving in slow motion. There was a lady who was crouched over a kid who laid limp on the floor screaming for help. I watched as the ambulance were getting filled and the paramedics pull people out of the building. Firefighters were trying to put out the fire, but there was no water coming out of it. Just more fire. I looked in back of me to see another building on fire. Except on this one I saw a girl on the edge. It looked like she was about to jump off. My heart began to race. I ran over to one of the firemen.
"That... That girl s-shes going to jump!" I shook the man screaming. But he kept standing their on the phone. Almost not knowing I was there. "Please... PLEASE SHES GOING TO JUMP!!! SOMEONE PLEASE!!!!" I began to panic. I looked over one more time. Her hands were straight out on the sides of her and she was tipping. I screamed. Then she fell. Except I was the one that felt like I was falling.
I snapped out of the vision. Sweating and panting for air. I woke up in my own room thankfully. It felt like a sauna. I hobbled over to my thermostat turning it down all the way down. But that only made the room go up into flames. Thats when I knew wished I was still dreaming.
"Oh god its not over yet is it?"
"Not yet." The voice replied. My door swung open. It only led to darkness.
"Ok lets get this over with." I walked to the hallway. I couldn't see a thing. The door slammed behind me. A slight flame led the way down the hallway. I looked back behind me and the door was gone. "I guess theres no going back." The flame was now meters in front of me. I ran, if sped up. There was a loud bang behind me. I paused and looked behind me once more. The floor panels were disappearing behind me, fast! I began to sprint. My heart began to race and it vibrated my entire body. I felt it all the way from my heart to my feet. The falling panels were catching up and I could feel my feet sinking. In the distance I could see a door opening. I tried to pick up my speed but my legs felt limp. Just as I was about to fall I launched myself to the opening. The adrenaline that was pumping through my body allowed me to pull my entire body on the ground. I rolled over and got my breath back again.
"Welcome Ellie." The voice was now next to me but submerged into the shadows. The room went up into flames again.
"Oh god, Ive been through enough just tell me what you want." I rolled over to see a shadow and a fire circle.
"Oh Ellie, its more complicated then that, don't you know who I am?" The voice asked me. It did sound familiar.
"No I actually don't." I brushed hair from my face.
"Heres a hint, you've never seen me in person before." He paced and waited for my answer. Thats when it hit me.
"D-dad?" My eyes opened wide. He nodded and sat on a chair in the room.
"Ellie, you've probably been told this already but you are very special."
"Yes I know that."
"Oh, but I don't think you do. Your no longer good Ellie." He smiled. My mouth dropped.
"No-no I am good, I always have been and I always will be."
"Your wrong! Because of your actions today and also going against what your mother specifically told you to NOT let me "reach" you, your now evil." His voice boomed. I shivered. "When I send you back, you will go back with new powers that you need to discover and learn to use." I swallowed hard. "Fire will no longer hurt you and you are now immortal." He got up from his seat. "Come." He held out his hand. I knew if I went to him I would never be the same.
"Goodbye." I whispered to my old powers and to my inner soul. As I took each step, one memory flashed in my head. It made me sad knowing all that good was gone. Forever. But now was the start of a new beginning. I was ready. He placed a hand over my eyes.
"This is going to sting." With no hesitation flames bursted from his hands and burned into my soul. I felt a burning inferno start in my heart. I felt different. Like almost powerful. I felt as if I could do anything. My dad raised a mirror to my eyes. They were bright red. I admired them. They actually looked amazing. "You need to wear these contacts to hide your eyes." He handed me a pair of contacts. They were an unusual color brown. I loved them. "And remember Ellie, if you ever need me just go up to the attic and draw a door and use the chant." I looked at him puzzled.
"What chant?"
"It will come to you, trust me." He snapped. The floor underneath me fell and once again I felt the falling sensation.
