Ellie's Point of View

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stepped back and admired my creation. The way the silk-like fabric shined in the midday light made it seem fanciful. I ran my fingers down the side.
"Maybe I could feel normal for one night again." I whispered to myself. I felt my Mother's presence behind me. I turned my head to her. She leaned on the entry way to our living room. Her fingers curled in her hand and placed over her heart. Her eyes were red from crying. Hair, frizzy as usual.
"I always feared this day." Her words were soft and only traveled a few meters before melting into the air. I didn't want to start this again. She shook her head slowly. "Just make the right decisions, please."
What was this? Was she finally letting me go?"
"I will." I replied. She seemed hesitant while walking away. When she turned her boot came into sight. A robber had came into our house and while they were getting away he ran over my Mother's foot. She had gotten this ugly looking cast that she could barley walk in. We couldn't find anything the robbers stole in the house, just a broken window.
I slid the dress off of the displayer and threw it over my head. My measuring and sewing had worked perfectly. The dress was white and flowed when I walked. I felt beautiful again. My hair was curled and my makeup had been done, nails painted. Everything. Brandon was coming around seven. It was six forty seven. I nervously waited by the window for him while still in my room admiring how I looked.
You look beautiful Ellie...
My fathers voice echoed off the walls. I smiled. He hasn't said anything like that to me, ever.
"Thanks Dad." I prayed for nothing to happen at Prom that would make me flip out. And go all demonic on everyone in the eleventh grade.
"You know what I change my mind, tell him your not going Ellie. Tell him your sick." She grabbed my hand and shook it in a begging motion.
"No, your not ruining this for me." I let go of her hand.
"Please Ellie, this isn't going to be good. He's going to take you Ellie. Your going to regret it. I know you will." I walked down towards the bottom floor while she followed me like a lost puppy dog. She grabbed my arm once again. My head snapped in her direction. Her eyes were sorrowful but also looked fearful. Ever since the night of the storm things have been looking up for me and I wasn't going to let it go back. I escaped from her grip again. I didn't say anything this time. The sound of a car came from up the road.
"Hes not going to come Ellie, your heart will just be broken by the end of the night. I don't want to see you like that." She pleaded. I looked out the window to see a random red car driving down the road. I sighed. Was she right? Brandon and I have never talked in years until now.
"No, I'm going. End of story!" I didn't want her to persuade my mind. Another sound come from outside. A long black limo shined in the light from the sun setting. It was him. I smiled. My mom sat in a chair in the living room slouched and staring down at the floor. "He's here." I said. She rose her head to look at me.
"Ellie...." Her eyes filled with tears.
"Don't do this to me Mom." I held her hand in mine. "Ill be fine." There was a knock on the door. I turned my head. There was a blurry figure. I let go and began to walk toward the door. This was it. After this I would take my life back. I heard her footsteps coming towards me. I looked back to find her holding the bible, about to strike me. I held up my hands and she froze.
"Your not ruining this for me." I gritted my teeth at her. I temporarily shut her mouth so she couldn't say anything that would provoke me anymore. Down the hall I opened up my praying closet. I started to slide her back with my powers. I removed the bible from her hands. And locked the closet door from outside. She started screaming and banging on the door.
