Louis' point of view
"I'm leaving" I yell down the hallway. "Thanks honey, dinner's in the oven and make sure the girls do their homework!" Mum yells back before I hear her turn on the water for her pre-work shower. I enjoy living at home because I can help out but mostly because I don't have to pay any rent. I don't really want to live in Doncaster for the rest of my life but I don't know where I want to move to, abroad possibly.
I jump into my car and back up into the road as I try to find a decent radio station. I find my way to Hall Cross Academy and park in the parking lot near the gates where my sisters will exit soon. I roll the windows down and step out, leaning against the car. I know my sister's friends look up to me, the older brother with tattoo's and all. Let's just say that even though I'm gay, it doesn't hurt the ego to have 16-year-old girls fancy me.
"Lou!" the twins run up to me and I hug them tightly. "Look in the back, there's a small snack because we don't have time to go home. I packed your dance clothes too, I hope I chose the right ones." I tell them, taking their backpacks and placing them on the front seat of my car. We wait for Felicite and Charlotte to exit the school as the girls nibble on the snacks I brought and I listen to them tell me about their day.
After about ten minutes we see the older grades exit the school and a group of girls, including my sisters, approach us. "Hello girls" I smile. Felicite just gets in the car without saying a word, typing busily on her phone. I know not to question it because I know the answer will be 'puberty' and she'll talk to me whenever she wants to. Charlotte and her friends try very hard to convince me to let her sleep over at her friends' house and they actually think I can be persuaded easier than our parents.
"You haven't finished your homework, it's a school night and you have exams coming up, the answer is no," I say sternly. "You're not my father, stop being so unfair!" Charlotte whines. "I'm your older brother so you can decide on getting in the car and coming home or I'll leave without you." I hate being strict but she's been pushing the boundaries a lot lately and I refuse to let her walk all over me.
"Your brother is such a dick!" her brunette friend says "He's hot, though!" the other adds and I get into the car waiting for Charlotte to get in as well. She says goodbye to her friends and gets into the front seat with a huff. "How about you invite your friends over for the weekend instead? I'll convince mum and dad to let you have a sleepover and it'll give you a lot more time with your friends anyway" I offer, patting her leg. It eases the tension and she starts complaining about her teacher and the amount of homework she assigned which means she's not mad at me anymore besides her grades have been pretty good so I won't have to do a lot of convincing.
I drop the little girls off at their dance practice and take the older two home. Felicite disappears into her bedroom while I help Charlotte out with her homework. She's finishing up the last assignment and I turn the oven on, noticing the small note my mum left before leaving for work, informing me about how long the food needs to be in the oven for and at what temperature. I smile at the note because mum still likes to treat me like I'm 10-years-old but I don't really mind and secretly enjoy her doing my laundry and writing these little notes.
I tell Charlotte I'm going to check up on Felicite and head up the stairs to their shared bedroom. I knock twice but don't get a response. "I'm coming in, cover up!" I yell, covering my eyes with my hand and slowly opening the door with the other. I hear a soft giggle coming from the other side of the room and peek through my fingers. Felicite is sitting on her bed, hugging her knees, wiping a few tears from her cheek.
