We wake up early to the sound of people running down the stairs and decide to join them not long after. I dress in my new Christmas onesie while Louis just opts for the sweater I wore yesterday and some pyjama bottoms and we spend the morning watching the girls opening Christmas presents, drinking tea and nibbling on some Christmas themed cookies instead of having a proper breakfast.

Everyone takes a bunch of pictures and I watch Louis pick one out to post on his Instagram. After looking through the pictures for a bit and lingering on a couple of selfies we took he decides to go for a picture of his siblings opening their presents in front of their large tree, captioning it 'A perfect Christmas'.

Mum and Jay move into the kitchen to prepare brunch, declining every single offer of people wanting to help out. I'm sure they would like some time to actually get to know each other as I don't know how much they will remember from last night. It may be a little exaggerated because they didn't drink that much but it was fun to see mum letting go and having fun with someone other than us or her friends at home.

Gemma and I exchange presents before brunch as Louis and his sisters do the same, our parents waking in and out of the room to see what we got each other as they prepare brunch or in case of our dads, clean up the place a little. Gemma always tells me not to spend too much money on presents but I can't really help it. I usually get her some scented candles or shoes she had been eyeing but this year I decided to take a different route and bought us matching rings and a new laptop she really needs as she literally invited me over for her old laptops funeral via text a week or two ago. I know she will like the ring as she's into jewellery and I've not been shy when it comes to wearing rings for the past couple of years either.

I would offer to get matching tattoos but she's not really into that, hence me having two tattoos for her instead of with her but it's fine by me. I enjoy watching her open her presents and embrace her as soon as she gets up to thank me. Before she sits down next to her boyfriend again she hands me her present which happens to be an old Polaroid camera. She knows how much I love taking pictures and usually just use my phone or my large camera so this is a present which happens to be perfect for me. We call mum and Robin into the living room and Louis takes a family photo of the four of us. Gemma also takes one of Louis and I next to the tree and I look forward to giving both of the pictures a place at home.

I enjoy giving people presents so I do wish I would have known that we would spend Christmas at the Tomlinson house so I could have gotten everyone something. Just watching people opening what you got them makes me feel good. I know Gemma and mum still find it difficult sometimes because they can't offer me something as equally expensive in return but I have been telling them for years that I really do not mind and have loved every single present they have given me.

I'm rarely allowed to really splurge on presents so I look for special occasions such as birthdays or Christmas. The only time I went all out was after Gemma graduated from University. She got a job and desperately needed a car but couldn't afford one so I showed up in a brand new car she mentioned being obsessed over and just handed her the keys. I offered to buy mum and Robin a new house but they flat out refused because it would be too much, which I can understand. So instead I convinced them to let me help them as they were getting a new kitchen and bathroom for Robin's house before mum moved in with him. I have the money and I'll never be able to spend it all on myself and I like spoiling the people I love.

After brunch, we exchange presents some more presents. I bought Robin a pair of funny slippers and a new phone because good old Robin was still using a phone without internet access or camera. I bought mum a large winter themed reef she can put on the front door and a handbag Gemma told me mum had been drooling over when she visited Gem in London and went shopping.
