I knew Gabby was tired but I Shay had been planning tonight since before both of us knew Gabby was pregnant. She'd hit 15 weeks yesterday and I knew she'd enjoy spending her birthday evening at Molly's. I slipped my hand onto her leg while I was driving and she smiled, "we don't have to stay late tonight Gabs," I said seeing how tired she was. "I know. It'll be nice to see everyone though." We'd spoken earlier about what to do because she wasn't going to be drinking tonight and everyone would be expecting her too because of her birthday. We decided she would tell everyone after we'd had cake, and I knew she was glad to finally be telling Shay.

We pulled up at Molly's and we both got out. She looked beautiful in a flowing summer dress and if you didn't know, you would assume she was pregnant unless her hands were on her stomach and the material was tighter to her skin. "You look gorgeous baby," I smiled as we walked up the curb. "Thank you," she smiled.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" I jumped and grabbed onto Matts arm as we walked in and everyone jumped out at me. I could hear him laughing at me and I smiled at all the beautiful people in front of me. Everyone from the firehouse was there, intelligence, and Nat and a few from Med were there. "Thanks guys," I smiled as Shay came walking over. "Was this you?" I asked as she embraced me in a hug. "Happy birthday girl. It was everyone, including that hubby of yours." "Thank you, it means so much." "How've you been? How was your morning?" "Lovely thank you. This kids woke me up to give me presents and I've had a really relaxing day which has been nice. Just been at home, had a swim and an afternoon nap with Ellie so it's been an easy day." "That's great, glad you've had a good one. Did you want a drink?" "Maybe later," I smiled taking Matts hand. "Can I just have a soft drink or something? I have to drive later." "No worries girl, I'll be back in a tick."

I turned and looked at Matt. "We are going to have to tell them," I said with a smile. "Shay will figure it out herself if we don't. She's probably already suspicious." "We can do whatever you want," he smiled. "After cake?" "Sounds like a plan."

It was a couple hours later when Shay bought the cake out and I could see Gabby was fading fast and ready to sleep. The whole pub screamed happy birthday to her and she was able to cut the cake and hand it out. "I think we need a speech!" Hermann called and I laughed lightly knowing what was coming next. Gabbys eyes caught mine and she mouthed for me to come over and so I wandering over placing my hands on her shoulders. "I just wanted to say," she started with a smile, "that I'm so lucky to have all of you in my lives. The friendships we sayer are truly spectacular and I couldn't have done so much in my life without all of you beautiful people. Shay, everyday I wake up and look forward to the next stupid text I'll get from you and I treasure everything you do for me- like this! And Matt," she looked up into my eyes. "Words can't describe how much I love you and how grateful I am to have you in my life. We've done so much together in 8 years, including our two beautiful kids." I smiled and kissed her as the crowd cheered. "Which," Gabby smiled. "Brings us to my next few words. Matt and I have been so blessed and so honoured to have our two beautiful kids, and we are so excited to tell you all- our beautiful family- that another little baby is on its way in early January." I smiled as the roar of everyone became louder, which I didn't think was possible. Shay collide with Gabby and held her in a tight hug knowing the hardship we went through only a few months ago. I don't think we could have found a batter way to celebrate my beautiful wife's birthday.
