Matt

"You are late!" Gabby growled as I walked in the front door. "Sorry, got caught up." "Sorry is not even close to good enough Matt. We are going to be late to my parents for dinner- how do you think that's going to go down?" "Baby I was caught up at work. Calm down," I whispered dropping my bag and putting an arm around her. "No don't!" She said angrily pulling away from my body. I have no idea where all this anger has come from. "Gabby come on, don't be like that." "Don't be like what? I'm tired and I'm angry. I'll be however the hell I want." "What's going on?" I frowned. "Nothing! Go get in the bloody shower and get ready! We are leaving in 10." "Alright alright." "No don't alright me!" "What do you want me to say?" I said holding my arms up in surrender. "I-" I knew what was coming next. She did this all the time when she was pregnant with Ellie. The tears welled up in her eyes and she turned her back to me before walking up the stairs. "Gabby wait," I said following her. "No Matt go away." She slammed the bedroom door. Lucas walked out of his bedroom, Ellie holding onto his hand. "Hey guys. Did you have a good day?" They both nodded slightly, "Dad is mum okay?" Lucas asked. "Yeah she's fine buddy. Are you guys ready to go to abuelas?" "Yeah." "Okay. Go downstairs and play for a bit. Mum and I will be down soon." Lucas nodded unconvinced but he knew not to argue.

Once they moved around the corner and down the stairs I slowly opened the bedroom door to see Gabby balling on the bed. "Gabby baby it's okay," I whispered sitting down behind her and wrapping my arms around her. "No it's not. It's not. I'm so crazy." "No you're not," I chuckled kissing the back of her neck, "you're pregnant." "And it's making me crazy." "Shhh." "Im so tired. I don't know why I got so angry." "It's okay. I know you're exhausted. You're growing our baby," I smiled gently placing one hand on her stomach. "Why don't we call your parents and cancel dinner." "No, no I want to go," she mumbled wiping her eyes. "Okay." I gently brushed the tears off her cheeks and kissed her forehead. "You look beautiful. Why don't you go downstairs and I'll be down in a minute. Just let me get changed and we can go okay?" "Okay," she whispered. "I love you Gabby." "I love you too."

Gabby

I was quick to be embraced by my mother the moment I stepped into the house. "Sorry we are late," I whispered. "How are you feeling?" "I'm okay mum. Just tired." "You've certainly grown and put back on some weight," she said placing both hands firmly onto my stomach. "I know. I know. You worry too much." "Where are my grandchildren?" I turned around as Matt walked in the door with Ellie on his hip. "Hi guys," mum smiled walking over and kissing both of their heads and taking Ellie. "Wow you're getting so big!" Ellie giggled as she kissed mums cheek. "Come on, dinners ready lets eat," my dad smiled. "Hi papa," I smiled kissing his cheek. "Hi Gabriella." "How are you guys?" I asked sitting opposite Antonio and Laura. "Good how are you Gabby?" Laura asked. "I'm good," I smiled. "Actually considering you are all here Matt and I have to tell you something."
Matt took my hand under the table and smiled as he looked towards me. "What is it?!" Eva jumped suddenly. "Eva you know better than to interrupt," Antonio scalded. "Sorry papa, sorry aunt Gabby." "It's ok sweet," I smiled. She was only 10 but disciplined well enough that she knew right from wrong. "What were you saying dear?" Mum said looking up from feeding Ellie. "Matt and I found out what we are having?" I said resting a hand on my stomach. "Gabby that's great," Laura smiled. "We aren't going to tell anyone until the baby shower next week, so I thought I'd put you through a little bit of suspense." "Gabriella you can't do that. How can you expect me to wait to find out what my grandchild is going to be?!" "I'm sorry mama, but Matt and I thought it would be fun this way."
"Save next Friday for dinner at the diner down the road and then we are going to go and have drinks at Mollys where we are going to tell you all," Matt smiled.
