Unexpected

Another little baby...

"I promise we are going home soon beautiful girl. I know you're tired," I whispered gently placing a kiss on Ellie's head as she sat on my hip. Matt had already tried to take her so I didn't have to hold her but Ellie wasn't having a bar of it. It was a fair time after bed, and she'd been good enough to sit through dinner with Mum, dad, Antonio, Laura, Kelly and Shay, and I knew she was exhausted and nearly fell asleep on the way to Mollys.

"Baby girl would you like to give Abuela a cuddle so mummy can rest her back?" She mumbled slightly a shook her head. "Alright, well mummy is gonna have to sit down with you then so we don't hurt your baby brother or sister."

Herman approached me as soon as I sat down on the bar stool. "Hey little miss, are you a bit tired," he whispered gently rubbing a hand over her hair. "Do you want a drink my love. You can get one, just ask Herman nicely," I smiled. "Me have raspberry bubbles?" she asked looking up. "How about some water?" "I want raspberry. Please mummy?" "Hey I think I've got just the right thing," Herman smiled causing her to look over. "But I might need your help making it. Why don't you come with me and then once you're finished we can find mummy." Ellie looked up at me for approval. "Off you go," I smiled passing her to Herman. 'Thank you' I mouthed.

Matt

"Hey beautiful," I smiled gently wrapping my arms around gabby and she walked over. "How'd you get rid of her?" Gabby laughed slightly and rested her head against my chest, "Herman is making her a drink. He's bought me maybe 5-10 minutes to myself before she'll be looking for me again." "How's our little one?" "Good, kicking. I'm excited for everyone to know." "Me too. I'll have to start on the nursery soon." "Green would be a nice colour, a nice green though not like the grass." "Anything you want darling," I smiled kissing the top of her head. She was starting to get heavy eyes and I could tell she was getting tired. "Hey do you want to tell them soon? I'll go and ask Herman to put the cakes out on the bar and get Ellie." "Ok," she smiled. "That would be nice."

It wasn't long before we had everyone's attention and Gabby and I were standing at the head of the room. "So," Gabby started. "Matt and I can't thank you enough for your support. We've got so many beautiful friends from not only work but from med and cpd. And now a couple of moths before we welcome our third little bubba into the world we wanted to let you all know if it is a little boy or a little girl." "And?" Shay asked ready to run at Gabby in congratulations. Gabby looked at me and I kissed her head. "You tell them," she smiled. "We are having another little baby girl!" I called.

Shay collided with me instantly and I'm glad Matt was behind me to steady me. "I'm so happy for you," she whispered into my ear, "another little girl." "I know," I smiled gently pulling back and wipping a tear. "Are the kids exited?" "Yeah, Ellie is super excited for a sister and Lucas would've been happy either way." "I'm glad Gabs, you deserve nothing less."
