Gabby

"Mum," Lucas said calling up the stairs. "Uncle Tonio is at the door. Can I answer it?" "Yeah buddy," I called back before grimacing as I felt another pain slowly starting to build. "Gabby," Antonio said quickly walking in, "what's wrong?" "I don't know. I just got dizzy and then this pain," I cried as he bent down in front of me and placed his arms on my legs. "I don't know and I'm scared. I can't loose this one Tonio, I'd never forgive myself." "Hey no sister of mine is going to talk like that. You're a fighter Gabby and you're going to be fine. Matt should only be about 5 minutes or so. He's going to take you to Med." I nodded slightly and Antonio brushed the tears from my cheek. I could only hope this was me working myself up over nothing. My back was to the door but I saw Antonios eyes drift from mine to behind me and I turned my head. Lucas stood outside the room and had his hands on the door frame- worry evident in his face. "Lucas, baby come here." I said wiping my eyes. He moved quickly away from the door frame and I heard his feet go down the hall. "Can you get him please? Just talk to him. He'll be worried sick seeing me upset and you here. I don't know how much he heard." "Gabby I'm not leaving you here." "I'm fine Antonio. Please. He'll go down to the tree in the backyard." Antonio knew what I meant as soon as I'd said it and he got up from his kneeling position and kissed my forehead.

I wasn't in the bedroom for much longer before I heard the door open. "Gabby?!" Matt was at the door and in front of me before I realised and was gently wiping the tears from my face. "Hey baby it's going to be okay." "You don't know that," I cried as I shook my head.

Matt

"Gabby. Gabby calm down. Let's go to med okay? You're going to be fine." She nodded slightly at me and I placed my hands on her sides ready to help her up. "Where's your brother?" "With Lucas. He was at the door, I don't know how much he heard," she cried. That was the last thing we needed, but atleast I knew Antonio was with him. "Can you walk babe?" "Yeah," she nodded her head and I helped her up. She went to step forward but then stopped and grabbed onto my shoulder. "Gabby.." "I'm fine, just a little dizzy." "No Gab-" "Matt! Let me walk." I sighed in defeat and helped her downstairs and to the car. Antonio stood at the door and waved slightly before disappearing back into the house while I pulled away from the curb to get to Med.

Gabby cried most of the way there and I held her hand while I drove but she didn't start to calm down until we were a little closer to Med. We pulled up and I didn't bother to park, I just pulled up close to the door and quickly got out to help Gabby. We walked straight through the waiting room and through the second set of sliding doors to the front desk. Thank god Maggie was standing there. "Maggie I need you to get Nat and Christie." I didn't need to say anymore and she quickly typed it into her system to page them. "I want a bed over her asap!" She called. "Gabby talk to me what's going on?" "Something wrong. Something really wrong," she cried placing one hand on the bench to steady herself. And just like that, she was out- fell forward toward the bench and I grabbed her just in time. "Gabby, Gabby can you hear me?" Nat asked running over. "She's out. Let's get her into 3. Matt can you carry her?" I nodded and moved quickly following Nat and Maggie. "Matt!" It was Christie and I turned slightly. "Bay 3 Christie," Maggie called. Once Gabby was on the bed I stood back in shock. I hadn't really processed what had just happened. God what had just happened. "Alright Matt, Will is going to take you outside and get some info while Nat and Christie work to get her stats up okay?" I nodded quickly and took one last look at Gabby before walking out of the room.
