Bri's POV

The pain I felt was unbearable. This gut wrenching feeling. I began to feel nauseous. I started coughing up blood.

He didn't want to kill me. Somehow I know that. I just hope Gillian and Rookie are okay. I could never forgive myself if something happened to them.

I blacked out.

~~~~Time Skip~~~~
I awoke on a bed. The pain was still there, but it had lessened. I heard voices nearby.
"And you didn't manage to get him?"
"Unfortunately, no. He took off right after he shot her."
"No clue where he went?"
"We checked all directions from his spot within a 50 mile radius. Only signs were drops of water, and even with those we got nowhere."
I tried to say something to get their attention, but I couldn't make any noise. A steady beeping rang through the room. The two people looked at me.
Blake, Gillian. Thank god they're okay.
"Bri! You're awake!" Gillian yelled and ran over to me, leaning down to hug me. Her shoulder hit my wound.
I started to scream in pain and loose my breath. Gillian panicked and backed up next to Blake. Logan and Brady came rushing in.
"What happened!?"
"I don't know! I was hugging her and I guess I hit her in the bullet wound!" Gillian broke down in tears.
She put her best friend in pain. She didn't want to loose me.
I was the only family she had left.
It started becoming hard to breathe and I was passing out from lack of air.
"Brady, hand me the oxygen!" Logan commanded his brother.
"What's happening?" Blake asked from the corner.
"Lack of blood makes her empty. Without blood pumping through her body, her organs have nothing to stabilize them, so they collapse." Brady explained while watching his brother pump air into my lungs.
"I thought you stabilized her?" Gillian asked, still crying lightly.
"I thought we did too. But her body couldn't take it, and it seems the slight bump-in on her injury caused it to bleed again."
"So I killed her?!" Gillian started to sob, but held it back. She wants to stay strong in front of me to give me hope that I'll live.
"Not necessarily. Unless she can't pull herself out of this one."
"Blake why aren't you upset?" Logan asked, still working to keep air filtering through my lungs.
Blake stood off to the side of the room, crying with Gillian. I hardly ever see Blake cry. He's not the kind of person that shows sadness easily.
The beeps got more spaced apart.
"We're loosing her!" Logan yelled.
Brady grabbed defibrillators from the bed side and warmed them up.
"Clear!"
I jumped from the shock, but the beeping still rang.
I saw a glow in a chair.
Mom?
"It's time." She said.
"For what?"
"For you to come home. Be with me and Dad."
"But what about Blake?" I started to cry.
"He'll be fine. His time will come soon enough." She walked over to me and held out her hand.
I hesitated before I reached for it.
A white light enveloped me as I got closer to grabbing it.
This was it. I'm leaving. The pain was too much for my body to handle. I'm not needed here.
No One's POV
A loud continuous beep split the room.
"Brady again!" Logan yelled. Brady warmed up the defibrillators once more and placed them on Bri's chest.
"Clear!"
Nothing happened.
"Brianna!" Blake and Gillian cried at once.
"Damnit Brady! C'mon!" Logan took the handheld device and did the same, but still nothing.
"Logan stop! It's not going to work!" Brady put the device back on its stand and turned his brother to look at him.
"She's gone."
Logan tightly hugged his brother, and the two cried together. Gillian and Blake cried in the corner. You were downstairs, crying with Levi, Cole, Gavin, Steel, and Adam.
"She's dead."
The mood in the house became gloomy. Bri was always someone who could make anyone laugh. Now all she did was make everyone cry.
"She's remembered."
