I Ship It

Bri slept on the floor and you were on the couch that night. She was waking up every hour to check on you. Sometimes you were asleep, sometimes you needed medicine, sometimes a snack, and sometimes you just wanted someone to talk to.

After the night was over and the sun was starting a bright sky, both of you were awake as the others came in.

"Good morning everyone." You greeted from your spot on the furniture. "Good morning Rookie. You're in a good mood." Brady took a seat against the wall across from you.

"I'm feeling a lot better today. Not as much pain when I move." Bri stood up and walked into the kitchen to see Braxton.

"You didn't have to force yourself awake all night, you know that. If you would've asked I would've stayed down here to take care of Rookie." Braxton started a brew of coffee for Bri. "I didn't think of that." The leader yawned and jumped onto the counter. "Why are you sitting on the counter?" This wasn't new to Braxton, Bri acted much like this when they were growing up together.

"Because I don't wanna pull up a chair. Have you slept at all recently?" Bri watched the coffee pot as the hot liquid started to fill it slowly. "I take naps every now and then, but not a full night of sleep." The ginger pulled out enough bread for the two of them and popped the slices into the toaster. "Do you at least try to sleep at night?"

"No."

"Why not?" Once the brew was finished Braxton made the coffee how he knew Bri liked it then handed it to her. "There's no point. I've tried but I can't fall asleep, so I don't bother with it. If I don't sleep then I don't sleep." He shrugged as he pulled the butter out of the fridge.

Bri warmed her hands with the cup and took small sips to avoid burning her tongue. Pulling out a butter knife, the male noticed through the corner of his eye that Bri shifted in her spot.

"Do you still not trust me with a butter knife?" He kept his back to her and pulled out two plates. "Do you not remember the kid from high school? Who knows what you could do with a knife!"

Braxton turned around with a questioning look on his face. "First off, it's a butter knife. Dull end. Second off, what kid in high school?" He set the knife down and walked over to her.

"That one kid, I can't remember his name. He was bullying me and you beat him up for it. It's amazing you didn't get suspended or expelled, but you really put a dent in him." Bri set her cup down and leaned forward on her knees to be eye level with her friend.

A look of realization spread over Braxton's face as he recalled the event she was talking about. "He was messing with you, I wasn't gonna stand to the side and let it happen. Besides," He pulled the female off the counter. "You're my best friend and more." Bri smiled and wrapped her arms around Braxton's torso.

He was a few inches taller than her, just the perfect height. Often times he would wrap his arm around her shoulders or she would lean her head on his shoulder.

Braxton placed a kiss on Bri's head and went back to making their breakfast. Bri frowned at the loss of his arms around her and the loss of their bodies together. She took slow steps behind him throughout the kitchen, giggling whenever he playfully rolled his eyes. The violet hair from her ponytail spread across her shoulders when she jumped on his back.

"Hey!" Braxton set down the butter knife as Bri ran her hands through his curly red hair. He swung her around where she was in front of him and he was holding her up. "Woah!" Bri nearly fell backwards but leaned forward where she would fall into Braxton's chest. She laid there for a minute before she looked at the male's green eyes and tangled her hands back into his hair. She smiled and laughed as Braxton sighed and chuckled. "Have I ever told you that your eyes are really pretty?" Bri held his head still so she could look at the ginger's emerald eyes once more.

He set Bri on the counter. "Yes you have. Several times actually." He grabbed her hands and kissed the back of them. "Have I ever told you that I love your smile?" Bri couldn't help smiling as she answered. "I can't remember that you have." She giggled. "Well, I think it's beautiful." He cupped her face and kissed her.

After a few seconds of the heated contact, Gillian walked into the kitchen to be met with the current event happening in there.

"Ha, any longer and you two would've been having a full on make out session." The blonde snickered. Braxton and Bri disconnected their lips and both blushed. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. But I will say one thing," She turned to leave the room. "I ship it." And she left.

The male and female looked at each other and laughed then closed the space between their lips once more.

"What are our plans for today?" You adjusted the wraps on your leg as you watched Gillian walked back into the room. "Don't know yet." Logan and Brady tried their best to contain their laughter after Gillian told them what was happening in the kitchen.

"They're cute together." One of them whispered. "They're still together after all this time?" The other asked. "Obviously. I'm glad that they stayed hooked up." A third voice pitched in. "Who are you guys talking about?" Your curiosity caused the words to blurt out of your mouth. You didn't want to say anything and let them know that you were listening to their conversation.

"Look in the kitchen." Levi chuckled. You turned your head to look over the counter at Bri and Braxton, who were still kissing. You laughed. So they are an item...I always thought they were. You scratched an itch near your wound and almost ripped it open again. "Ow." You mumbled.

"You okay there Rookie?" Blake asked, walking closer to you and ignoring the event in the kitchen. "Yeah I'm fine. Just, scratched the opening." You winced and made an attempt to stand up. Blake wrapped your arm around his shoulder and helped you support your weight. "Where you tryin' to go?"

"By everyone else. I don't wanna be left out over here." He nodded his head and helped you walk over to where everyone else was standing. You leaned against the wall to keep weight off of your leg and to allow Blake to walk around instead of helping you stand.

"So, they're a thing?" You gestured over to Bri and Braxton. "Yep. The ship has sailed again." Gillian placed her hands on her hips. "What? 'The ship has sailed again'? What does that mean?"

"They were the most shipped couple in the school we went to. From fifth grade all the way through high school graduation and during college. They started dating in eighth grade, and that caused people to pair them even more. They went on dates frequently but visiting each other's house was the most common thing they'd do to hang out." Blake spoke smoothly, as if he remembered, down to detail, the day his little sister wasn't so little anymore.

"I was the awkward third wheel sometimes!!" Gillian cheered. You laughed.

"You know what we should do?" Levi smirked.

"What are you thinking in that weird brain of yours?" Gavin asked. "I think you know what I'm talking about. On the count of three."

You looked at everyone else in the room. "What?" You mouthed over to Gillian. "I ship it." She mouthed back. You had no clue why you were saying this, but you decided to join in.

Brady started the countdown. "One...two...three."

You all shouted, "I ship it!"
