Chapter 13
Every single time one of my teachers told us to pair up or that they created pairs, I was tempted to walk out of the class. Unless Taylor was in one of my classes, or Kamille. However, today in English, Mrs. Signer told us that we would be getting in pairs she created.
I glanced at the door, wondering if I should leave. I swear, if anyone but Kamille was my partner, I was leaving.
I've done it before, I would do it again.
Mrs. Signer began reading off the partners, starting with Eva because her name was at the top of the attendance. "Eva, your partner is Munro," she said.
"Nope," I said. "No way."
"Munro...." Mrs. Signer said in a warning tone.
"No, not happening," I said. There was no way I was going to be partners with a self-centered bitch like Eva who decided to call my Kamille a bunch of hurtful names.
Mrs. Signer sighed. "Munro, there are no switching partners. Either you cooperate with Eva, or you could go to the principal's office."
She probably didn't know I would choose the principal's office over working with Eva, so I packed up my stuff. "If anyone needs me, I'll be in the principal's office," I said before leaving the classroom and heading to the office.
I sat down in my usually chair and got comfortable in my seat before taking our my phone. I unwrapped my earphones from it and put them in my ear before putting on music. Much better being out here than in the classroom.
Mrs. Wall, the principal, walked out of her office and sighed when she saw me. I pulled out one earphone. "What are you doing here, Munro?" she asked.
"Mrs. Signer didn't call you yet?" I asked and she shook her head. "Oh, well, I get paired with someone I didn't want to work with in English, so Mrs. Signer told me it's either work cooperatively or go to the principal's office. Here I am."
"Munro, you can't refuse to work with someone," she said. "How do you think your partner felt when you just walked out and refused to work with them?"
I shrugged. "Don't know, don't care."
Mrs. Wall has gotten to know me after all the years of me getting in trouble, so she knew I was just going to refuse going to class if I tried. "Fine, stay here until school's over," she said. "It will be going on your record, though."
"You might need a bigger folder for my record," I said. "Maybe a whole cabinet for it."
Mrs. Wall just sighed again before going back to her office. I put my earphone back it, but I took it out once Nick walked into the office. He handed something to the secretary before turning to leave, but then he saw me. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," I said.
"Oh, my teacher just needed me to give something to the secretary," Nick said. "And you? Trouble again?"
"Correct."
"What did you do, Munro?" Nick asked with a sigh.
"Nothing bad," I said. "I was partnered with Eva for something and I refused to work with her because she's a bitch, so I left and came here."
"She's just self-centered," Nick said. "She's not a....female dog."
I raised my eyebrow. "No, trust me, she is one. She just can't get over the fact that she's not the lead for the play, so she decided to be a bitch to Kamille and say a lot of hurtful things. Eva is really lucky I don't get into fights. With girls."
