"What were you thinking?!", Luka almost shouted at her.
"I was just having a bit of fun," said the girl as she shrugged. She strode over to the cowering wolf and petted it on the head. "You can shift now".
The silver wolf almost seemed to shimmer and suddenly, there was a guy standing there in its place. And let me tell you, he was HOT. He had gorgeous hazel eyes, shaggy dark brown hair; a slight stubble on his chin.
My eyes roamed lower, but someone cleared their, snapping me out of my thoughts. It was Luka, and by the annoyed expression on his face, he knew that I had been checking out the wolf-guy. I blushed a little and shook my hair out so that it covered my face from his view.
Luka turned back to the girl. "Your version of 'fun' - ", he air-quoted the word, " - put Annaleise's life in danger!"
"Not my problem," she said, with a non-chalant wave of her hand.
"It wasn't her fault," said the wolf-guy.
"Yes, you're right. It wasn't her fault, it was yours! I'll have your pelt made into a rug when I'm done with you!", Luka said angrily, cracking his knuckles. "Your punishment's way overdue, Miguel ".
Miguel ( now that I know his name ) took a step back and half-hid behind the girl. The girl laughed.
"Now, now, Luka. Control that temper of yours. You don't want to scare your little lamb, now do you?", she said, smirking as she glanced my way.
"Run along, Kamini, and take your dog with you, before I change my mind."
Miguel growled softly.
"You got a problem, DOG?", Luka sneered.
"Stop calling him a dog!", Kamini snapped.
Now it was Luka's turn to smirk.
I watched this entire exchange going on, silently, as I tried to make sense of it. What I got from it was that Kamini, the weird and creepy girl, was a troublemaker, and so was Miguel. And to say that Luka didn't like Miguel would be an understatement of the century.
Kamini glared at Luka. "Come, Miguel! Let us leave! We have places to be, people to see!"
"Trouble to make," Luka said softly, so that only I could hear it. I stifled a chuckle and he flashed me an amused smile.
Kamini turned on her heel and stomped off into the forest with Miguel trailing after her like - for lack of a better word - a dog.
"Luka." He turned around to face me.
"Yes?" he asked, with a sweet smile. "Are you going to thank me ?"
"Thank you? For what?"
"For saving your cute little ass, of course," he said, smirking.
I stuck my tongue out. "Whatever! I just wanted to ask you what you did to me," I said, holding my previously wounded arm up.
"Isn't that obvious?", he cocked his head to the side. " I healed you."
