I owe a MASSIVE apology to everyone who has been reading my story thus far. I guess you could say I've been on a hiatus. But this year has been a mess of exams and stuff (I'm taking my SPM this year - equivalent to O-levels) so you can get the general idea of what it's like. I hardly have any time to write anymore... So here's another chapter for all of you!~ HOPEFULLY I'll be able to upload the next chapter soon.

Then we heard a knock on my room door. "Is everything alright in there?" It was Mum!

"Quick! You have to hide!" I whispered frantically to Luka.

"Where?! There's no place to hide," Luka said, looking around the room.

"Why don't we just shove him in your closet," Jin suggested, smirking.

"Actually... That's not such a bad idea..." I told Jin.

Luka's eyes widened. "You've got to be joking."

"Nope."

"Annaleise? Jin? Are you okay? I heard screaming," Mum asked, trying to open the locked door. "Open the door, Anna."

"Err.... Okay, Mum. Just a minute!"

I opened the closet, pushed Luka inside and slammed the door in his face just as Jin opened the room door and Mum walked in.

"What was going on in here? Why were you two screaming like banshees?" Mum questioned us.

"Cockroach!"I blurted out. "We saw a cockroach". Jin played along and nodded.

"I didn't know you girls were scared of roaches". Mum looked amused.

"It was a big one! It came to suck our blood and eventually kill us," Jin said, in a raised voice. I didn't miss the fact that she was talking about Luka. I stifled an eye roll.

Mum laughed at her. "Cockroaches don't suck blood. They're harmless! Why, I bet it was more scared of you, than you were of it."

I thought of how Luka looked when Jin and I were throwing things at him, and I had to admit, he did look a little scared. "Yea, Mum. I think it was." I grinned at Jin, and saw her grinning back. She knew exactly what I was talking about.

Mum looked a little concerned. "Are you girls feeling alright? Talking about bloodsucking cockroaches is not something I would consider normal."

I flashed Mum a cheeky grin. "When are we ever normal, Mum?"

She laughed at that. "I guess you've got a point there. Well, I'm going out to run some errands. Do you girls want anything?" Mum asked.

"The usual," I said, giving her a cheeky grin.

"Anything sweet, and packets of potato chips?"

"You know me so well." I grinned at her.

Mum rolled her eyes. "I'm your mother. Of course, I know you."

"And I know for a fact that you're going to end up having diabetes one of these days," Jin said, sticking out her tongue at me.

"I'll deal with that when the times comes, thank you very much." I flipped my hair all diva-like and the both of us burst into a fit of giggles.

Mum just shook her head at us and left. I heard the front door shut a couple of minutes later, and heard her drive off.
