 Jack's POV

My eyes pinched open, as I ran my fingers through my hair. Silence fogged my ears, but it was kind of nice. Usually I would hate the silence, because it reminded me that I was alone in this world... but now I just may as well accept it. I am alone.

I hate being so doubtful of myself 247, but hey... sometimes you have to accept the shit things in life, and move on. I am trying to move on now, so A for effort, huh?

I padded my feet along the wooden floor, and held the railing as I stumbled down stairs. No one was awake, and it was nice to just take a deep breath and enjoy the peace that has finally come to me.

I entered the kitchen and prepared a glass of water, before taking a swig and placing it on the counter. Yesterday afternoon Alfie announced that we have a 'welcome back' dinner at his favourite restaurant. Despite the fact that Finn's dick- ass friends would be there, and Emma and Finn would be kissing the whole, time.... I agreed to go for Alfie, Troye and Joe's sake.

"Morning Jack." Emma's sleepy voice startled me, as she sat down at the kitchen table.

I lightly smiled, and brought my glass of water to my lips, and took another sip.

"So, dinner tonight..." She paused.

"It's going to be fun right." Her enthusiasm reminded me that I wasn't going to enjoy it as much as I would have wished.

"Sure." I agreed.

I bet Emma is only excited to get dressed up for Finn, and then spend all of her time kissing him at the back of the restaurant. How ironic.

Alfie smiled from the top of the stairs, before he jogged down and immediately the tension was lost. I smiled at that. He turned the kettle on, and his crooked smile brightened my mood.

"So, restaurant... you guys keen?" he beamed.

Perhaps not.

Today won't be as exciting as everyone else seems it will be. I nodded with fake excitement, and Emma grinned back at Alfie.

"Who is coming again?" Emma furrowed her eye brows at Alfie, who took a moment to think.

"I think it's just Finn's friends, us, and some others. I don't really know, but we'll just have to find out." He smirked.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. This day is going to be just hell. Finn's friends= death. Emma and Finn= me balling my eyes out and having to hide for the entire night. Did some dick plan this night to just crush me?

If anything Finn would plan a night like this... but Alfie... really?

*********************

I had exactly 2 hours to get ready until we all went to the restaurant. We were meeting Finn's friends there, however I don't know how 2 clan's could really get together and have a good time. Emma is just blinded by everything, and yet she feels like this is just a normal, better life for her. Quite frankly it is 100 times worse, but shit happens and she'll never find out.
