THE NEXT ADVENTURE: Chapter 21

"You--your a--" Tink slammed a hand against my mouth.
"Don't say a word," She demanded. In shock, my eyes wide, I nodded quickly. Slowly she uncovered my lips and I was speechless. "To the shelter...now," She demanded once more. I again nodded quickly.

"He was only seventeen, but to me his age didn't matter. He was the most beautiful human I have ever seen." I snorted.
"Well that's surprising," I said. Tink rolled her eyes. I still couldn't get over her human figure.
"I disguised myself as just an average Londoner and convinced him to love me...he did. That was when I told him about Neverland. But I didn't tell him that I was a fairy. But he let me take him to Neverland. There I would make the decision to show him my true identity..." Tink waited a moment with a disturbed look in her blue eyes. "That was a mistake."
"What is wrong with being in love with a fairy?" I protested.
"It scared him I suppose," Tink responded. I looked at her sadly.
"Are there other fairies like you?"
"Oh of coarse...but Neverland has trapped them in their fairy bodies."
"Why hasn't it trapped you?" I asked.
"I found Peter Pan...my love for him is what has kept me human...and I planned to have Peter fall for me as well but then Wendy came along. He cares for her more then anything, but that doesn't mean I have to stop caring about him." I hesitated, thinking of a response.

"How do they make you feel--I mean--them being together like they are?"
"I'm okay with it I guess but I'll always love Peter no matter what. And Wendy did save his life." I thought about that a little shocked.
"You'd do anything for him?" I asked. Tink nodded quickly.
"Of coarse..." She then stood up. I followed. "And I'll protect him...from this." Tink trailed her hands down her human sides. "You could never tell a soul, Robin. And that is an order. Do you understand?" She looked fierce in the eyes and violent. I nodded quickly.
"I understand."
"Good."
"But...do me a favor?" I asked.
"Don't you dare try to threaten me," She warned. I shook my head wildly.
"Not at all..."
"Good."
"But, will you?"
"Depends on what it is." I thought about my favor a moment.

"Well...there's going to be a ball tomorrow in London and I'd like to see my mother--"
"Definitely not!"
"No, not literally will I go up to her and have a conversation and visit with her. I just want to observe her...see if my stepfather is still making her happy, please?"
"What kind of ball is it?" She asked.
"A masquerade."
"I think I can get you some clothing to wear." I brightened. "But...who will you go with?"
"Do I have to go with anyone?" Tink's face twisted in shock.
"Of coarse! You'll be an attention getter by yourself and the last thing I want for you is to be noticed by an old friend or even your mother." I understood.
"But...who will I go with?" Tink grinned. "You?" I assumed that's what she was getting at. Her face turned terribly offended.
"Oh no...definitely not...there is only so much people a fairy can handle before they can disguise themselves for long."
"Why?"
"Emotions are dreadfully powerful, Robin. I can just be only a little nervous and change into a fairy from it."
"Are you the type to get nervous?" I asked. Tink nodded quickly.
"You'll have to take Wendy."
"Wendy?!" I nearly choked.
"What's the matter?" Tink asked.
"Peter would never allow it," I said.
"That's why you two go after he falls asleep."
"But--"
"Do you want to go to this ball or not?" I thought about the idea some more.
"Nothing would be more important to me," I answered honestly. Tink nodded.
"Then you have no choice but to take Wendy," She said. My brows frowned and I grew slightly fearful.
"What if she won't go with me?" I asked--though whether or not Wendy would go with me to the ball was the least of my worries. She was honestly too sweet to say no, but I still had concerns.
"Of coarse she will...she might just want to go to find her own mother as well." Tink did have a point.
"Well...fine. I'll talk to her. But--for the clothes, you said you think you can get some...how?"
"I know a man..." She said. In ways, that response kind of worried me but I didn't show it. Soon, I was able to look at Tink's response in a more positive silly way.
"You know alot of men in London?" I joked.
"Not that I care for any of them much," she admitted. I laughed.
"Thank you," I said whole-heartily. Tink's eyes sparkled and she smiled.
"It's the least I can do," she said.

In ways, I didn't mind Tink had kept such a secret to herself. I could understand...but I also felt a little bad for her. The love of her life just left her after she told him what she really was. Yet...if Hook was seventeen when he came to Neverland, why'd he age I wonder.

But for tonight, I just let that question go and watched as Tinkerbell sized down back into a fairy. Then the two of us went off to sleep and it was sleep I think both of us needed.
