PANFICTION: The Next Adventure Chapter 29

"Okay, boys, bring it in--bring it in--no! Stop! Stop it!" I giggled at Peter's frustration with the lost boys. He had me closing my eyes for something. I wanted so desperately to peek but didn't want to ruin the surprise. "Okay, slower this time...no--slow....slowwwweerrrr..."

There was some grunting and complaints along with some shuffling of feet. "Goodness, all of this for just a girl?" I heard one of the lost boys ask.

"Hey! Don't make me whip you into place, Wood--or Woodie or whatever! Wendy's not just a girl! She's a special part of my life," Answered Peter calmer with the last part. I blushed and laughed.

My feet bounced impatiently on the dirt ground of the forest. "Hurry, Peter, will you? I'm growing frightfully excited!" I begged.

"Just a little longer, Wendy," Peter said eagerly. I then heard someone come over to me. They laid a hand across my back. "Okay, boys! Hold it! And slowly now, place it..." The person standing next to me was Peter. His voice was inches from me, that's how I knew. "Sllllooooowwwww...." Peter urged carefully and slowly.

I heard something heavy smash onto the ground. "OUCH!" Snapped one of the lost boys.

"Perfect!" Piped Peter.

"Oh god--my toe, Tinkerbell!" Cried a lost boy weakly. I gasped and uncovered my eyes. Peter quickly covered them with his hands.

"Not yet!" He freaked with a gasp.

"Oh--hurry!" I begged some more.

"Okay, shoo boys, thank you for the help," Peter said with the slightest worry. I began to feel bad for the injured lost boy. whoever it was.

"Tinkerbell! Where's Robin--he needs to fix my toe," called one of the lost boys off in the distance.

Soon all got quiet.

"Okay," Peter spoke low and came around me still covering my eyes. "Slowly now...walk..." I listened.

"Goodness Peter, where are we?" I begged to know as I inched onward.

"In the forest, somewhere by the tree house, now...careful, don't speed up. Almost there." I listened then finally we came to a complete halt.

Peter breathed. I felt that smile on his lips too. "Now--ready?" Peter paused then uncovered my eyes--"look," he finished. I gasped with joy. Tears welled in my eyes. Before Peter and I was my little house, the house he had made his lost boys build for me. With happiness, I cried, "How?!"

"I had Tinkerbell find it and sail it across from the main island. The lost boys helped me move it--"

"Oh--Peter!" I cried some more and embraced him into a big hug. "How could you have ever thought--goodness," I squeezed Peter tighter warm water spilling from my eyes and down my cheeks. Laughing now, I began to pour my heart out. "Why--I think I--"

I quickly cut myself off then let go of Peter. Looking at him in shock, he looked at me waiting for me to finish. I couldn't. I knew I was about to spill those three words. My mouth was hanging open. "You think you...." He urged.

I shook myself free from my shock then quickly just smiled. "Oh nothing," I finished and nervously played with my hands, looking down.

"Do you not like it?" Peter panicked. I looked up quickly and shook my head.

"No--of coarse I do. I love it...it's so...you're so..." Peter waited again. "Perfect."

A huge smile spread across Peter's face and he looked down blushing. "I'm not that great," he mumbled. With disbelief, I lifted his face.
