THE NEXT ADVENTURE: Chapter 26--Wendy's P.O.V.

I sat collecting berries in the bushes at which contained them. Robin had got all of us invited to Princess Tiger Lily's birthday tonight, for he had saved her from Hook, and I was giving her a basket of one of the most finest species of berries, according to Tink. I tried a few and they were quite excellent. They were a scarlet color. At first I thought they were cherries but that didn't end up being the case.

But it was the day after Robin had returned with such news. We were all thrilled to be seeing the Princess. Of coarse, Peter, Tinkerbell, and I had seen her before and of coarse, Peter had saved Tiger Lily from Hook before and was nearly killed. I heard she aged a little, and her hair was longer. Surly she must've looked my age or Peter and Robin's. I wonder what Robin thought of her light skin and purple eyes. I knew the first time I seen her, both those things stunned me and made me question how she could be a native. But Peter had so clearly explained that she wasn't born into her tribe, for the chief found her as a baby...in a tiger lily bush. Since the chief's daughter died from a tragic drowning accident, he took Tiger Lily in and because he had found her in a tiger lily bush, he named her the way he did.

Rumors spread for years about how she ended up in Neverland and with purple eyes. Legend has it...her mother was a fairy from some faraway island that was part human and had fallen in love with a sailor.

The idea was all a bit romantic to me...a half fairy half human woman falling for a lost sailor. It made me wonder if Tinkerbell had been part human at one time and had fallen in love, but I didn't dare ask her. What lies within her past may just break her heart, and I couldn't risk bringing something like that up, because if Tinkerbell did fall for someone before then where are they now?

The sounds of rustling in the bushes around me caused me to break from my thoughts just then and I quickly searched with my eyes and saw nothing. The noise came again but with it, I was tackled to the ground...a playful Peter on top of me. "Morning, Wendy," he spoke with a smile. Slightly disturbed, my head hurting a little, I moved Peter off me and sat up.

"Uh, morning, Peter." He suddenly whipped out half a dozen bright blue lilies. I gasped out how beautiful they were.

"I've brought something for you," Peter spoke with a grin on his face.

"Goodness, Peter, they're beautiful," I breathed and took the flowers mesmerized and staring in the center of their petals.

A sudden discomfort came over me when I thought of Tiger Lily and I looked up at Peter unsure. "Surly you must have collected some for the Princess?" I hoped. Peter looked completely comfortable.

"Nope."

"Then you must've got something else for her..." I hoped again.

"I did." Some relief came to me then Peter pulled out a small, wooden, and barley furnished flute with poorly carved holes.

"Oh," I tried to sound cheerful.

"I even carved a T in it," Peter added then pointed to the T carved on the mouth of the flute.

"How--uh--lovely," I forced then dropped my slightly discomforted expression and smiled at Peter in the face. "Might I see it?" I asked.

"Sure, but be careful, I got a splinter from holding it earlier."

"Uhm...uh...okay," I said then was handed the wood.

Searching about the instrument with hope and caution, I peeked through each of the aligned holes then felt the carved T with my thumb and nearly lost myself to my thoughts. "Uh..do tell, Peter, how long have you might of spent on this?"
