It was a great reunion. All the guys were so happy from the holidays. Apparently they already knew about the promise ring.
"Alright, everyone. Bags, car, now. Our flight is in 45 minutes." I announce.
Remember when I told them about showing them around New York. Well, that's what I'm gonna do.
They smirk, all picking up their things and walking to the car.
"When did you become so bossy?" Harry laughs.
The girls were going with us. And Harry was bringing someone from Holmes Chapel to New York with us. I haven't met her yet. We had to pick all of the girls up.
First we picked up Eleanor and Dani, then Perrie, then the mystery girl.
She said her name was Payton Meslor. She was a bit taller than me, nearly as tall as Harry. She had long, dirty blonde, wavy hair. Her complexion was tan. She had big blue eyes and an amazing smile. She had a bit of a baby face. Ya know, round cheeks. She had dimples just beside her laugh lines from when she smiles. Her hair had blonde and light streaks everywhere. She was very nice, particularly shy. She just sat quietly, with her hands in her lap. Big eyes and a shy smile.
We all greeted her and she just squeaked a 'hi'. Once everyone was talking, I slid into the seat beside her.
"Hey, I'm Katie." I smile.
She blushes and looks down. "Yeah, I know. I'm a bit of a Natie fan." Her voice was soft and calm. Barely audible over these yelling freaks.
"Thanks. So how do you know Harry?"
She looks up at me finally, with a soft smile. "He's been a mate since we were in grade 1. I was being bullied because I was so quiet and he stood up for me."
I could tell it was a happy memory for her. The way her eyes shined when she told it. And she didn't squeak.
"Yeah, Harry's a good person. I know he doesn't like to see people hurting. He always stands up for us and his friends. But I can tell he's very lucky to have you as a friend. You seem nice."
She blushes. She stares down at her lap again. "I believe I'm the lucky one. He saved me."
Wow, wait a minute. Did I hear that last sentence right?
"He saved you?"
"Yeah. Just before he called me right after Christmas, I was bullied again. Out around town by a few kids from school. They said a lot of mean things. And I guess I believed every word. But Harry called me right when I picked up the razor. He told me to come over to talk. He saved me." She squeezed her eyes shut.
"Listen, no matter what those bullies tell you, you are better than them. You are important and you have a very big purpose. I use to be bullied a lot, I was even stabbed in the back by my so-called 'best friend'. He told everyone that I begged him for sex and he was the entire reason I was labeled the school slut for four years. I'm not sure what my purpose is, but if I wasn't here, I never would have saved Niall's life and never would have been his princess as everyone tells me. I thought I wasn't important, but look at the differences I have made. I'm sure you'll find your purpose soon. I know you have one." I rest my hand over hers.
She gave me a genuine smile.
I slide back into the back seat to talk to Niall, Eleanor, and Zayn.
Louis did propose. She said yes. They hadn't announced it yet. She wore this big smile and a gorgeous ring. I don't know how she can lift her hand with that stone.
"I'm so excited. New York is amazing. I have always wanted to take a tour." Eleanor laughs.
"Well, I made that happen just for you, babe." Louis brags.
