Jealousy

At school the next day I was on my own at my locker. I shut it and then thought about my conversation with the guardian.

[FLASHBACK]

"This is serious." He said.

"Okay sorry." I said putting my hands in the air.

"Anyway not only will you defeat the bear but you will also lead the rest of our kind out of hiding." The guardian said as he got is orb. In the orb I saw a boy, he looked younger than us. He had brown hair and was in an alley, looking cold and hungry. "People like this little 7 year old that can turn into a monkey. His parents abandoned him after they found out and no one else accepted him." I said BA put her hand in front of her mouth.

"Oh I see I need to be going now." I said. Trying not to sound sad.

" You can't run away from the truth." He said.

"Yeah watch me." I said as I stormed out turning eagle and flying off.

[PRESENT ]

"Fang, Fang, FANG"

"Huh what." I said realising it was Amelia. She didn't look that happy though.

"Oh hey sorry I just zoned out. You alright you look sad." I asked.

"I'm fine. Anyway do you want to come over to mine after school. My parents are out for a bit and I thought we could watch a movie." She asked.

"Yeah that sounds great but are you sure your all right."

"I'm fine and are you sure you can come."

"I'm not busy."

"Don't have plans with Rose."

"What no. Wait is that what this is about." I said realising why she was sad. "You think I like Rose more than you." Amelia just stayed silent and didn't face me. "Look Amelia." I said turning her head so she would be facing me. "Your my girlfriend and I love you. Rose is just a friend and it won't be anything more." I explained.

"And what about that bat girl."

"Her? We're just partners. I can't fight my battles alone."

"Yeah you know every hero has a private dinner on a roof with their partner in crime." She said as she got her phone out and showed me a picture of BA and I on the roof eating.

"I wanted to get to know her. Plus I think it's Rose. She has the same back story, she's blind." I explained.

"So nothing is going on between you two?"

"Nothing. Just friends." I said as I kissed her on the cheek. " See you tonight." I said walking away.

After school I went home, got changed and then went out walking to Amelia's. I texted her saying ill be there shortly. I then flew the rest of the way and when I got to hers I saw her parents car was still in the drive way. I flew to her room window and saw she was in there. I knocked and she let me in. "What are you doing you early." She whispered.

"You never gave me an exact time." I whispered back.

"Amelia honey." We suddenly heard. Then there was a knock. Amelia pushed me back out the window while mouthing hide. Her mom came in. "We are leaving now and will be back in about 3 hours okay. Don't answer the door and..."

"Yes mum I know." Amelia interrupted.

"And definitely no boys." I heard another voice come in the room. It was deep so deep it made me shiver. It was probably her dad.

"Yes okay dad." Amelia went with them and when they left Amelia came back in to the room.

"That was close." She said.

"Yeah next time give a time."

"I did I texted you." I checked my phone.

"Whoops." We then went down to watch the movie on Netflix. We didn't really get to watch the movie since most of the time we were making out on the couch. Which was better than watching a movie. Anyway after an hour or two I left before Amelia's parents came back.

When I left instead of going home I went back to the sewers I had to learn more I couldn't run away from it. I couldn't be a coward.
