That morning I went back to Yuuei.
I didn't have to. But I wanted to.
I walked into school thinking that it'd be a fresh start.
But I was wrong.
"G-good morning." He said looking down.
I had just arrived to class.
I was a few minutes late so I assumed everyone was already seated.
I opened the classroom door and was surprised enough to find him standing there.
"What are you doing blocking the door?" I growled.
"I'm sorry. I asked to go to the bathroom before lessons started. Please excuse me." He tried to get around me. I moved away and waited for him to leave.
"Heeey! Bakugou!" Kirishima yelled. He waved his hand back and forth like an idiot.
"Yeah? What is it?" I asked.
"I'm so glad you're back! It feels like forever since you've been gone!" He said happily.
"Well I'm here now. It's only been a month in that dumbass place. I'm finally free." I said staring out the window.
"Ah, yeah. Speaking about being free. Uhm... There's this thing I wanted to talk about. I'm not sure how it really happened but..." He blushed a little as his eyes glanced towards another direction.
"I mean I know I'm crazy and all. But... Actually never mind. I think I just need to take a break. Maybe its all in my head." He giggled hesitantly.
"HAH? What is it, you bastard?" I asked him.
"Err... No, uh... That is--I mean!" He mumbled.
Just then Kaminari came waltzing into the room.
"Gomenasai!" He yelled. "I got caught up in the train! Excuse me for interrupting!"
He bowed down.
Aizawa-sensei was still laying on the ground trying to sleep again.
He went to his seat and sat down.
Kirishima didn't say a thing.
When I looked back his body was rigid, he had a sheepish look on his face.
"Hey, you look like you're constipated. You need to take a crap?" I asked.
I flicked his forehead but he didn't move.
It felt hot.
"Tch. Whatever, man." I turned away.
Deku suddenly came in opening the door and then shutting it behind him.
"Sorry, Aizawa-sensei! I'm back!" He yelled.
He ran to his seat.
Aizawa-sensei got up from his slumber and removed his sleeping bag.
"Alright, settle in class. It's Friday. The LAST day of the week. Let's get this class started." He passed out a few slips of papers and mini pencils.
"It's Friend Appreciation Week. Today you're all going to write down who is your great or best friend and why. You can pick up to at least three people but list why you chose them and how they are special to you. The purpose of this is to spread positivity in the classroom and deepen your bonds together. You'll be here for three years. Side by side you'll all grow into fine heroes and you'll have each other to thank when you graduate."
Everyone began writing down names. I could hear their scribbling and the sounds of rubber erasing the lead from their papers.
It took a good ten minutes before everyone was completely done.
"Good. Now, it's your decision to give it to the person you wrote it for or to keep it just as a memory. But never forget the people you have spent time with here. It is very important to be closer and to have trust. Those of you who wish to give their slips please stand." Aizawa-sensei urged.
Some of us stood up.
They walked up to the people that wrote about and gave them their slips.
"Here, Bakugou!" Kirishima shouted.
"Yeah, thanks." I said, nonchalant.
"Here you go, Bakugou." Kaminari said calmly.
"Thanks." I answered.
"Bakugou." Yaoyorozu called.
She came up to me and gave me a slip. "Anytime, okay?"
Huh? What did that mean?
I looked at the slip.
BAKUGOU KATSUKI:
You're such a dumbass.
I can't believe people really like you.
But I respect your cleverness and determination.
The way you adapt in battle and posses great strength is mind blowing.
Put that to good use.
Otherwise, you're just a hoodlum.
LOSER.
"WHAT THE HELL?! YOU BITCH?! YOU WANNA FIGHT?!" I yelled after her.
She ignored me and walked off to another friend.
She was skipping towards Todoroki.
I looked at the others.
Bakugou Katsuki:
You're awesome.
And scary!
But I think you're a good friend and an amazing future superhero.
You're smart and brawny.
I believe that your attitude will change in time.
Just don't end up like Aoyama.
He's one mysterious dude.
Or like me, I short circuit and look like a dummy.
LMAO!
I looked up at Kaminari.
He smiled. It was genuine but...
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. My attitude ain't the problem, lightning boy. I AM amazing."
"Hm... I guess." He answered back.
"What?!" I choked.
I slammed my hand on the desk.
Kirishima was rigid again and he looked even more bothered.
"Oi, Kirishima, tell lightning boy over here that he's got it all wrong." His eyes looked down at the ground as he made a pouting face.
"Oi, HEY, you listening?!" I yelled.
Kaminari was already gone.
He had walked back to his desk and started talking to somebody else.
I stopped talking.
I looked at the last slip.
Kirishima's.
Bakugou... No, KATSUKI.
I... I think there's something wrong.
With me.
You're the only one that I can talk to.
You're an amazing friend!
And a man among men.
I admire you.
In fact, I think I might be jealous of you.
No, no! I'm definitely not!
But... I can't be as outspoken as you.
And I hate that I can't to the VERY CORE.
There I things I want to say that I can't.
So I'll keep it short and simple.
YOU'RE A REALLY GOOD FRIEND AND I WOULDN'T TRADE YOU FOR ANYONE ELSE.
THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ME.
I was feeling uncomfortable.
Too many people being nice.
Too many people being fake.
Too much noise and joy...
It's all ridiculous.
Today was wasted.
Friendship? Appreciation?! HAH! What a laugh. There are no such things as that. Just business. And the higher you are, the stronger you are.
I'll leave everyone behind.
I'll be the number one hero!
"Bakugou..." Kirishima muttered.
"I will convey how I feel. I will be honest with myself. But until then... I will enjoy the time I've been given." He said determined.
"I have no idea what in the fuck you're saying. But good luck." I told him.
After lunch time Midoriya showed his face again by buying a soda at the vending machine.
The vending machine in the lounge area where we hang out.
I stared at him.
"GET OUT."
"I will." He mumbled.
I waited.
The soda can came out but he entered a few more coins.
"It's for Uraraka and Iida-kun." He explained.
"Hmph!" I scoffed.
Two more soda cans came out after he inserted more change.
"Have a good day, Kirishima-kun, Yaoyorozu-chan, Kaminari-kun, Jirou-chan!" He ran away with the sodas in his arms carrying them against his stomach.
"Ooooo, he didn't say good day to you!" Jirou provoked.
"Shut the hell up. Earphone or not, I'll blast away your music."
"Ohoho! Someone's angry!" Yaoyorozu teased.
"I said shut up!" I yelled.
"I'm hungry." Kaminari said.
"Then go eat, DUMBASS!"
"Whoa! That's some extra sass today!" Kirishima said.
"I ain't got no sass. I ain't mad and I ain't jealous. Leave me alone." I answered.
Everyone looked the other way with a smug smile on their faces.
"Oh. The bell rang." Jirou said suddenly.
"It didn't ring, stupid." I told her.
"It will." She said mysteriously.
"Aoyama what are you doing here?" Kirishima asked surprised.
"Hey! It's Aoyama!" Kaminari smiled.
"Ask me how I'm feeling." Aoyama asked smiling.
"Uhm... How are you feeling?" Kirishima started.
"Fine! I'm alright. I've never felt so fantastic in my life!" He said dramatically.
Kaminari laughed hard.
"Aoyama, you're so funny!" Kaminari chuckled.
Kirishima looked irritated again.
"Aye, needa take a crap again?" I asked.
"No." He answered. But he still looked upset.
Ring, ring, ring! Ring! Ring! Ring!
The bell rang and class time started again.
