Chapter 21: Confrontations Part II

"Shouto, can I have some of your orange?" Midoriya asked.
"Sure, open wide sweetie!" Todoroki answered.
Midoriya opened his mouth slightly as Todoroki flicked an orange slice in.
"Mmm!" Midoriya said endearingly.
"You're such a cutie, Izuku." Todoroki smiled and ruffled up Midoriya's hair.
"Nooo~. I'm noooot!" Midoriya said playingly.
Midoriya blushed lightly trying to hide his face.
"Baaaae. Don't hide your face!" Todoroki said.
"Why? I'm embarrassed." Midoriya started.
Todoroki held Midoriya closer to him and kissed his forehead.
"You're beautiful." He emphasized.
"Stooop!" He begged.
His face turned even redder.
"Well, well!" Iida yelled. "If it isn't Midoriya!"
Midoriya gasped. "Iida-kun!"
"Iida-kun." Todoroki said politely.
"Todoroki-kun." Iida said sternly.
They nodded towards each other.
"As class president I imagine you came here with a purpose in mind. I'm terribly sorry! I will not show--we will not show anymore PDA on campus." Todoroki spoke.
"It's fine. As long as you understand. Keep interactions at minimum and be safe. There is no telling what fro blue can occur on school grounds. I'll be checking regularly so don't do anything funny!" Iida warned.
"I won't." Todoroki saluted.
Iida saluted back.
Iida walked away with a whistle in his mouth and began marching around the property.
"Shouto... I didn't know you two were good friends?" Midoriya asked.
"We were always friends. But we don't hang out as much. I respect him far more than the others. He came up to me one day about six months ago and confessed to me that he knew you and I were a thing. I didn't deny it. I asked that he didn't tell you but he told me he wouldn't even if I hadn't said anything." Todoroki replied.
"Uhm... Then why are you telling me now?" Midoriya asked innocently.
"Because... It doesn't matter anymore. Besides, everyone knows we are and everyone found out about Bakugou and Kirishima. What's the point?" He answered.
"Oh." Midoriya became lost in thought. "Why didn't Iida say anything? It's been six months... I know everyone knows but... I just want to know why he never said anything to me."
"Are you saying that you're hurt that he doesn't want to talk about it? I'm sure you two are the best of friends and I'm guessing that he didn't want to hurt your feelings or make you feel different." Todoroki replied.
"So you think he wants to make me feel okay? Like we've always been.
The same?" Midoriya asked.
"Well, he never stopped talking to you, right? He stayed your friend even though he already knew. I'm sure he doesn't hate you! Just be honest and try to start first!" Todoroki said.
"I KNOW Iida-kun doesn't hate me!" Midoriya yelled. "He's my best friend! But I'll start first. That's the least I can do. He's had to endure this mentally and try to understand me. I want to know how he feels. About everything really..." Midoriya thought about it.
"Okay. Then go. I'm sorry if I sounded rude. I didn't mean to. But you need to figure things out with your friend. Especially Ochako. How long has it been now?" Todoroki asked.
"Uraraka-san..." Midoriya whispered as he lowered his head.
"If you want to be closer to them... Go now. Because then you'll never see them again. It won't be the same."
Midoriya ran to the double door in front of him and opened them frantically.
"Iida! Uraraka!" He yelled.
He ran down the hallways, went up and down stairs checking every boys bathroom and asking every girl that come out the girls bathroom.
"Tenya! Ochako!" He yelled everywhere he went.
Without stopping he suddenly tripped over himself in the west wing of the building.
On the other side of the west wing he saw a library.
Through the transparent windows he caught a glimpse of Uraraka and Iida.
Midoriya gasped in excitement. "Minna!"
He stood up from the ground and began sprinting towards the library.
When he reached the entrance of the double doors he stood there for a moment as Uraraka and Iida studied together.
"Guys.." He said softly.
He inhaled and exhaled sharply, pumped his chest up and open the library door.
The door bell that rang when someone came in echoed through the library which caused everyone to look up.
Uraraka stared at Midoriya in surprise.
Iida just as shocked as Uraraka gasped in response.
"I-I... I need to tell you guys something! I know that we're not on speaking terms... Or well off with each other. But I want to make amends. Please listen to what I gave to say!" Midoriya spoke.
Uraraka turned to Iida.
Iida nodded to her.
"We're studying, Deku. We don't have time." Uraraka started.
"But if you need our attention then please make it quick." Iida smiled.
They both stood up from their table and proceeded to walk outside.
"Uuuh. I, uhm... This is-- How do I put it?" Midoriya started.
"Well, you can start with how you and Todoroki got together." Uraraka said sarcastically.
"Hm. Yes. Todoroki." Midoriya thought. He put his hand to his chin.
"Yes. And the reason for not telling us." Iida added.
"Well you see. It all started the day that Kacchan and I... Stopped talking."
"Y'all never really talked anyway." Uraraka said.
"Yeah, as far as I could tell he was your tormentor." Iida added.
"No, no! It was when we were little that we would play and talk and be together... ALL THE TIME!" Midoriya tried to convince them. "If you were friends with us back then... You'd understand."
"So, it's a twisted kind of friendship." Iida and Uraraka said.
"NO! IT'S... It's complicated." Midoriya sighed.
He looked down for a moment.
"Midoriya.... I just want to say that I never stopped being your friend." Iida spoke. "And so did Ochako."
"Hey!" Uraraka shouted angrily.
She punched Iida in the arm and pouted fiercely at him.
"That--That makes me happy!" He sighed in relief. "A-And if you need me to tell you everything I will! I totally will! No more secrets!"
"Then? Start already. Your time's almost up!" Uraraka said.
"Right!" Midoriya started. "Well, it all began after I came back to school. Todoroki and I were just friends. Just like everybody else! There was nothing there. It was just school and school only that I had my mind on. But somewhere along those days... It began to change."
"What is this? A romance story! I'm not listening to an audio book, am I?!"
Uraraka shouted.
"Shhh!" Iida hushed Uraraka. "Let him speak."
Uraraka grunted and crossed her arms.
"I was able to focus on all my classes. If anything my grades went up really high! I was very well woven into my studies. That is until..." Midoriya paused.
"Until? Until what?" Iida gasped.
"Oooh. You're just enjoying this, aren't you?" Uraraka rolled her eyes.
"Until... Todoroki came to my desk. And made me an offer." Midoriya began again.
"An offer?!" Iida exclaimed.
"What the hell?!" Uraraka shouted.
"It was an offer that I could've refused. I--I can't really say why I did it or why I even accepted. But... I know for sure that deep in my heart... I secretly wanted to make Kacchan jealous." Midoriya looked up at them to analyze their expressions.
Their facial expressions turned from curious to shocked.
"WA-WAIT--WAIT A MINUTE! I THOUGHT THIS WAS ABOUT TODOROKI?!" Uraraka yelled.
"YES. I THOUGHT SO TOO! WHERE IS THIS GOING?!' Iida demanded.
"I--MUST CONFESS THIS NOW!" Midoriya cried. "I--I'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN LOVE WITH KACCHAN!"
Their faces turned appalled.
"Then... Why are you with Todoroki?" Uraraka whispered angrily.
"Are you two timing them?" Iida squinted suspiciously.
"NO! Kacchan and I don't talk! We're--on a break." Midoriya stated.
"I'm trying to get over him. Todoroki-kun and I are just... Playing."
"What?" Iida asked.
"Todoroki and I... We've been playing around with each other. We only do things to ourselves when we're i--i--innnnn th--uh..." Midoriya blushed, breathlessly.
"Mood?" Uraraka suggested.
"Y-ye-yes!" Midoriya answered.
"I mean... We became a couple a ew months back. But we broke it off last month."
"What?" Iida asked again. "So... You two really were something but then-- not?"
"Yes. I..."
"JUST TELL US THE FREAKING STORY ALREADY." Uraraka yelled. "So Todoroki asked you to have sex with him or to be his boyfriend?"
"To be his boyfriend. But later along those lines we became intimate and eventually became a couple. But... As it went on we realized that we didn't really love each other... We just liked the attention. Like... You know-- Pretending to be someone you're not."
Midoriya shrugged off his revelation.
His expression of embarrassment softened.
"I'm sorry. But... I like what Todoroki-kun and I have. And I don't want it to end. And I have to get over Kacchan one way or another. Even if that means cutting off ties with him."
"So... You two are fuck buddies?" Uraraka asked.
"Ochako!" Iida gasped. "How rude!"
"Uhm... Well... You could say that. But it's more affectionate than intimate."
"So love buddies?" Iida corrected it.
"Yes! Exactly!" Midoriya agreed.
"Okay so... This is all just a phase because you like Bakugou and you're using Todoroki to get over him. And Todooroki is using you--For what now?"
"He's.... Just curious." Midoriya answered.
"Are you sure? It seems like there's something more." Iida asked.
"Look! What Todoroki's after is none of my business!" Midoriya yelled.
"What he's after?" Uraraka asked suspiciously.
"I-I mean... Whatever he's doing to get whatever he's getting over... It's his business. I, uh, shouldn't get too involved in his life and his privacy."
Midoriya said nervously.
"But something doesn't make sense." Iida questioned.
"Yeah, something seems a bit off." Uraraka added.
Iida held his hand to his chin.
Uraraka crossed her arms.
"Well, uhm, that's all I wanted to tell you!" Midoriya squealed. "We'll talk later! A full discussion must be arranged! Until then, I'll see you two at lunch! Goodbye, best friends!"
Midoriya ran off another direction paying no attention to his surroundings.
"Oomph!" Midoriya's breath cut off.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to--"
Bakugou was standing right in front of Midoriya.
"Hey, Deku." He said indifferently.
"Uh, K-Kacchan." Midoriya stuttered.
"When you have time, we need to talk." He said urgently.
With no anger in his voice or irritancy in his tone he nodded to Midoriya and walked off.
"Tomorrow. 8 P.M. at your house." He called back.
