Part 29: Vivian
I won’t say I missed him already, it just felt strange being here, knowing he’s not. On the bright side, now I can go and explore the house, who know, I might find something interesting. Maybe I'll go see what Rose is up to in a little while... Kinda feel like a kid in candy store… Oh the possibilities.
Ack... what is with this feeling of nausea coming back. Hum, never a good sign. I could sense that Klaus was close by. Turning to head back into the house, he came out of the shadow as if on cue. He stood there looking me up and down, making every muscle in my body go rigid.
“Awe… you missing him already?” The sarcasm trickled from his lips.
Ignoring him, I tried to skirt my way through the door. He refused to move. There was no need for him to lay a single finger on me; he just filled the entry way up with his presence, leaving me no room to get through, unless I wanted to physically try to remove him.
“Please, can we not play this stupid cat and mouse game? It is getting rather old.”
With the grin to challenge the devil himself, he said. “Give me a good reason why I should. I’ve got nothing better to occupy my time with today. So you’ll work.”
“Aarghhh, you’re going to make me go bloody mad aren’t you?” I knew it was the wrong choice of words, I just couldn’t help myself.
I couldn’t believe my luck. Xander should have known that Klaus was going to mess with me today with or without him here. He was going to make me pay for being with Xander. That was a given. I only dreaded was how?
“Klaus, please” I begged. “I have no clue what you want from me. Just please let me through the blasted house.” The anger boiling within me, but I knew I better keep it under control.
“You know exactly what I want… YOU!” He came towards me, gripping me by the forearm, giving me no choice but to go with him. Dragging me across the drive, through the side gate, and down the same path Xander had taken to the waterfall.
Klaus was moving too fast for me to keep up. I stumbled as he yanked me over tree roots and debris, as we made our way to our final destination. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t break free from his grasp. I knew I would have bruises on my arm, and there was no way I would be able to hide this for Xander. I could feel the panic rising in the pit of my stomach, just as I could feel the frustration and anger burning through Klaus, as he pulled me along to the waterfall entrance. Shit, why did he have to bring me here?
Suddenly I felt myself spinning around, as I landed on my ass in the dirt. I quickly got back on my feet, ready to run if I got the chance. When I turned towards Klaus, what I saw was not what I expected. I expected from him to angry, but there he was standing in the entrance to the cave, calm. To calm. Alarm and panic ripped through my body and caused me to double over in pain.
Klaus came towards me.
I could hear the concern in his voice as he asked, “Are you ok?”
Putting my hand out, I waved him away. “Klaus just stay away from me. Don’t touch me, don’t talk to me. Just stay the hell away.”
“How can I stay away from you, Angel? We’re meant to be together. Especially after all these years, I finally found you again?”
“What? After all these year? You don’t make any sense…” I stood there shaking my head. “Klaus, it’s time for you to face the fact that I am not yours. If I do decide to choose anyone, it will be Xander. He has already won… All you’re doing is making it worse on all of us, but mainly on yourself.” I pleaded with him. I longed for him to see this.
