What I saw made no sense to me. Pierce was sitting on the floor with his back leaning on Junior's bed and one leg lying on the floor and the other close to his chest. In his hand was a cigarette, and when he turned his head to look at me, smoke came out of his mouth. He slowly blew it out as he stared at me.
"What are you doing here?" His voice was a bit rougher, almost like he woke up from a long night.
"I'm looking for Junior," I said and looked around his and Kiel's room. The place was trashed. Papers and clothes scattered on the floor, unmade beds, and food that was starting to pile up on Junior's desk. It didn't cause a smell...yet. Junior and Kiel didn't have the cleanest room in the world, but they would at least try to keep it decent. "What the..."
"He went home."
I raised an eyebrow. He went home? Why didn't he tell me? Maybe because I was somewhat forced to ignore him. Easton has been on my ass lately, and it was bothering the hell out of me. He was getting paranoid, which made me paranoid. I was already paranoid enough, thinking that he was behind me most of the time. I tried texting Junior that I was hurt, but Easton watched me whenever I was on my phone. Easton only told his friends what happened to me, and I almost prayed that they opened their big mouths and said to others that I was hurt. Dario probably had an idea why I didn't go out of my dorm for a week, but I hoped he kept the conversation we had between us.
"There you go, protecting them."
"I'm not."
"When will he be back?" I asked him.
Pierce pressed his lips on the bud and took it out, blowing it in the air. "Monday afternoon. He left a note for you."
He held a small note in his finger, and I walked over the clothes and stuff to get to him. I grabbed the letter and opened it, reading it to myself.
"What does the note say?" Pierce asked. I glanced at him and frowned, folding the note and putting it in my pocket.
"What did the note say?"
Junior was sensitive, no matter what. He tried hiding it, but I could tell that with me, he showed his shy, sweet side.
Jasper,
If you're reading this, I'm letting you know that Kiel is in the hospital, and I went home. I'll be back on Monday. Kiel is okay. He'll be in the hospital for a couple of weeks. I tried reaching you, but it would go to voicemail, or the message wouldn't go through. I was hoping I would see you, but Dario told me that you wanted to be alone. Was it something I did? I don't like to say sorry a lot, but, for you, it seems like I have to. I'm sorry for whatever I did. I don't like begging either, but please text or call me. I hoped the others didn't read this note. They'll never let it go.
"Nothing," I lied and looked around the room. "What happened to Kiel?"
Pierce frowned. "Probably alcohol poisoning."
"Is he alright?"
He glanced at me and put the cigarette in his mouth. "He's fine. He wants to see you for some reason."
Dario wasn't lying then. Why would Kiel want to see me? I thought back to the lily I left under my pillow and decided to visit him tomorrow.
"Does he usually drink?" I said, and faced Pierce.
Goosebumps appeared when Pierce's green eyes stared at me. He wasn't staring at anything but me. I cleared my throat to get rid of whatever I was feeling and continued to stare at him back. He blinked whatever trance he was in and shook his head. "No. he doesn't even like soda or juice. I wondered what made him get drunk."
