There was space between Miles and I. He was staring out the window with a distant look on his face and I was trying to look out the window but his reflection was on the mirror. Miles haven't said anything ever since we got inside the cop car. The car was left behind. They told us it was part of the crime scene because Miles told them that there was more than us. I was tempted to check my phone again and to see if I got anymore messages.
I sighed and looked away, leaning back on the seat and staring ahead. Delaney, the police officer, was driving us to the police station. Miles tried explaining to her that we didn't have anything to do what happened but she said since Miles called them and knew what happened, they had to ask us more questions. We weren't arrested, per say, but to Miles it felt like we did.
"Will we be able to call our parents?" I asked.
She glanced at us through the rear view mirror. "Of course. How old are you?"
"I'm nineteen."
"Wow," she gasped, "I thought you were younger. How old is your brother?"
"Twenty three," he answered. I visibly relaxed and mentally sighed when I heard Miles's voice. However when I looked at him, he was still looking out the window. The awkwardness between us thickened and I couldn't wait to get out of the car and breathe.
"Okay, well, Jasper and Miles, you can call your parents when you go inside but then you will be separated to be questioned. Is that clear?"
"Yeah," I mumbled and closed my eyes. It was going to be a long ride. I might as well take a nap.

"What the fuck do you mean we can't call our parents?"
Fluttering my eyes open, I saw blurry figures moving and talking loudly. I rubbed my tired eyes and yawned softly. Once my vision became clear Miles and Delaney were out of the car, arguing about something. I looked around my surroundings and saw that we were in front of the police station. That's why the car isn't moving anymore.
"Miles listen to me, okay, we just need you guys to talk to us about what happened today. This may be another case to something that happened three years ago," Delaney said calmly and placed her hand on his shoulder.
Miles's shook his head. "Another case? Are you telling me they did this before?"
"We don't know who is they but it seems like someone else does." Three years ago? Did my friends do something similar to what happened today? I took out my phone and read our messages.
The cops are here. Leave.
Thanks Jas. We owe you one.
No way in hell they thought of killing Easton before. I mean, they could have beat him up and left him alone, but killing him? Everything happened quickly and suddenly and it wasn't on purpose. Kiel didn't mean to kill Easton. The others didn't want him to die. For some reason I read old text messages between Junior and I. Compared to the others, Junior and I will always be closer. Pierce and I were in a different level, only because we like each other. Nixon and I was somewhat difficult but after a while we understood each other because he finally opened his eyes.
After Kiel telling me about his suicidal thoughts and his experience with therapists, I felt a small connection towards him because he was able to tell me what happened to him. I felt important that he wanted me to me and I would keep it to myself.
Asher and Dario will be a mystery to me. Asher and I never got into a personal level but I told blame him. He was either too busy or I was too damaged to get to know him. Dario, on the other hand, was the one person who knew about everything and I wanted to thank him for telling me that I don't have to go back to him. He was such a creep for watching me though. But these were my friends. They were the ones who would do anything to protect me. They wouldn't kill anyone else.
