"Sasha. Sasha, wake up."

I groaned in protest as I kept my eyes closed, not wanting to wake up. "Sasha, wake up." The person repeated.

I fluttered my eyes open to see Austin right in front of me. "The doc has to speak with us." Those words made my heart sink to the floor. I hope what ever the doctor has to tell us isn't what I think it is.

I slowly rose up from the chair and followed Austin. I was so weak. I felt like everything was drained from my body. It isn't good feeling.

We continued walking until he stopped in front of, presumably, the doctor. "How is he, doc?" Austin started and the doctor stood with his straight face. "I have some news about Mr. Devitt."

My heart sped up when I heard his name as he continued, "Good news is that he's in stable condition and he should be waking up sometime in the morning tomorrow." Those words made a small smile grow on my face. "But there's some bad news too."

That's when the smile faded away, "He has a traumatic brain injury."

"A what?" Austin questioned, confusion surrounding his voice. "A traumatic brain injury."

"What's that?" He asked, scared and still confused. "It's a brain dysfunction caused by a very strong force, a violent blow to the head to be more specific."

Tears filled my eyes but none fell out. "Symptoms are amnesia, dizziness, blackouts, fainting, difficulty in thinking and remembering things, and in his case vomiting."

"Amnesia? Wait, he might not remember us?" Austin asked in a panic tone. "There is a possibility."

"Shit." He swore under his breath. "But I think he might forget things that have happened recently. So he might not know about how he got injured or such things like that. I'm pretty sure he will remember anyone he knows right when he sees them." The doctor informed us and I sighed in relief. "But I could be wrong."

I was stressed out. What if he forgets about me?

"You're welcome to stay the night the both of you. You're close family members right?"

"I'm his cousin." Austin lied and I stood there with a lump in my throat. "And I'm guessing you're his wife, right?" The doctor asked and I blushed. I wouldn't mind being that. "Yeah."

"Alright, follow me."

We followed him until we reached the room. "And one more thing." The doctor caught our attention. "Don't try to make him mad because he might get really angry over little things so try not to be up any negativity."

We nodded before stepping into the room. Austin closed the door behind us and my eyes landed on him.

He had stitches above his eyebrow and small bandages all over his forehead. His eyes were closed shut and he had a really horrible black eye. His hair was a mess, it was all over his face.

My heart crumbled at the sight. It was all my fault. "It's not your fault, Sasha."

"It is, Austin. If I-

"If nothing. Just because he was mad at you and the cheating stuff. It still didn't give him the right to just give up like that."

"But it was because of-

"Sasha, stop." He raised his hand. A tear escaped my eye as I walked towards the side of the bed. I grabbed his hand as the heart monitor was the only noise filling the room. I grabbed his hand with mine and pushed his hair back with the other.

I looked up to see Austin sitting one of the chairs, "I'm tired." He trailed off as he closed his eyes. My eyes went back to him as I felt his hand tighten on mine. I looked at the hand before looking back at him and he was smiling but still had his eyes closed.

I smiled while running my hand down his cheek, "We should get some rest so we could wake up early in the morning." Austin said before resting his head against the wall.

I listened to him and sat on the recliner, "Hehe, you have the comfortable spot." He laughed and I disagreed. "It isn't as comfortable as it looks." I snickered and he let out another laugh.

"Well at least you get to lay down. I have to stay sitting."

"We could switch." I offered but he immediately declined. "No, no. You need the rest."

"I barely sleep and I slept in the waiting room for about a hour."

"Still it isn't enough. Just sleep, Sasha."

I laid back and silence filled the room. "Sasha?" Austin called in a sleepy voice. "Yeah?"

"If he forgets about the cheating thing, don't ever bring it up." He told me and I sighed. "You might feel guilty, not letting him know but with his injury, it might be worse than before. So don't."

"I'll try." I replied before closing my eyes and only hearing the heart monitor on the other side of me. I got up from the recliner and kissed Finn's forehead.

"I love you." I whispered and after, laid back down. I closed my eyes and tried to get as comfortable as I could as I drifted off to sleep.
