Like a kid who just got caught stealing sweets on a dark Halloween night, I slip into my clothes once I hear Esmée's voice. I was too worn out to perform my tasks any faster, so I decided against tying my hair back into a ponytail. Liam was tying the band of his sweat pants when he spoke.
"We should be doing this more often."
"Unlike you, I am a very busy woman," I chirp while tying my shoelaces.
"I am a very busy man, too." kneeling on one knee, I look up at him and my eyes meet his shy smirk.
"Busy men don't have time for sex," I add, and get up, grabbing his bicep and making sure we're walking fast. I don't need her knowing what just happened. Does that matter? Liam would still tell her anyway.
I can't bare looking at my reflection. The images of Liam and I keep appearing, messing up my mind and body functions.
"Not unless you call it busy sex."
"That doesn't even make sense," I shake my head and fight with the door key. Finally unlocking the door, I have a last look at Liam. His hand sneaks up to my shoulder, and I feel him pull me towards himself.
"Not right now," I mumble.
"One last kiss," without any word, he kisses me. Somewhere inside me, I know I really like him. It's not the sex, not the excitement he reveals, not the new world he shows, not the style he imposes, but the way we are together. I can't believe he makes me forget the mistakes he did, and though I know he did wrong, I don't mind. I really don't.
He pulls back and opens the door. We walk out, and the heat hits our skin. The sweat aroma returns and I wish I could step back, and that adds to my list that includes of how nervous I am.
"How was the work out?" Esmée lowly shouts beside me.
I jump to the side and clasp my hand over my chest, my heart beat thumping against my palm.
"It-it was good," I lie- it was amazing-.
"Sure?" She examines my face. From the corner of my eye, I watch Liam brush his lips with his tapping digits. He looks adorable, but masculine. His stubble adds the manliness to his features, his red lips add the exquisiteness to his physicality.
She gives me an agreeable look with a hint of humour as though she had an idea of what we have done.
"Are you ready now?" She directs her question to Liam and battles with the crooked smile that is forming.
"Yeah," he plants a kiss on my forehead and walks away with Esmée, leaving me alone as I was before we went into the gym.
I try to retain the warm feeling rushing through me like the fireworks blasting into the sky. I can't confront myself, the real me, that has somehow trapped me into this mess of how I feel about Liam.
Is it possible to love someone within a week?
Maybe it's not love. It surely may be the feeling of content or the satisfaction of getting what you yearned for your whole life.
"Hey."
"Hey," I look at Zayn and go back to day dreaming.
Zayn!
"Oh, hey," I say again, coordinating my foolishness.
"Okay," he awkwardly answers.
Don't tell me he knows what happened in the gym, too!
I peek at Zayn's angular face before he finds the words to say. His lips were flattened as he thought deeply, staring at the empty space in front of him.
