What?
"Don't you begin to worry about it now, love," she looks up at me and flashes that evil smile.
"No, no, no, Veronica. What do you exactly mean by you found someone for me?"
"You have a bunch of things to do!" She gets up instantly, and shows me the papers I did not get to do yesterday.
"Veronica!" I whine, rolling my eyes.
"Nora! Chop, chop!" She hands me the papers, and I give her the doubtful look as I take the papers and walk with them to my desk. I set the papers on the desk and settle on the chair, immediately going in with the signatures. I dig into my suitcase and take out my eye glasses and put them over the bridge of my nose to enhance my sight. I sign a few things and dot down the important details for Mr. Harvey. Completing a few calls in order to organize the meetings, I lean on my rotatable chair, and sigh. I look at my wrist watch and notice it being ten o'clock.
Can't time go any faster?
I am dying to know what Veronica has to say. How can she have someone for me? I am not a type of person who is into dates, talking about boyfriends. Such things should be discussed before setting me into such mess!
"Focus, Nora." She clears her throat as she walks into Mr. Harvey's office with the paper where I wrote his next meetings. I roll my eyes, and get on my desktop, searching up a few things. I simultaneously write my To- Do list, digging into my thoughts for the things I still need to do.
To-Do List:
- Grocery shopping by Wednesday(tomorrow)
- Purchase of a new DVD by Thursday
- Visit the library to return the borrowed books
- pay a few bills today ( Tuesday)
I bite my lower lip as I look over my list. It is a lame one to add, but these things are very important to me. These are some of the things I have to accomplish before Thursday. I don't know what life is without being organized. I might have caught it from my parents, since they were the perfectionists, where everything was always organized. When I was thirteen, instead of living a life like the other kids, I was hooked with lessons I never really understood. I usually used to wake up be nine A.M for my ballet practice, followed by some of my sport lessons from my personal trainer, until I decided to walk away from my family. My older sister, Alexia, was my partner in everything I did. But the cards flipped, and the pictures showed to expose how different we all were.
Flashback
"Why aren't you playing along, Nora?" One of my classmates asks as I sit on the bleachers, my chin held by my both palms as I watch them play various games.
"I don't think so mother will let me," I scrunch my eye brows as I sit upright.
"There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing with your classmates, now is there?" The boy stands in front of me, confused. He doesn't understand why I said so. Mother never let's me hang out more than a second in school once they ring the home-time bell, so playing with them will be beyond the limit.
"No, I am sorry, but n-"
"Nora!" He whines." I will teach you the rules, I promise."
"Fine," I get up and leave my back pack on the bench, my hair whipping behind my back as I run through the cold air.
"Now," we stop running and both stand as he shows me the instructions to a game I was really interested in. I don't think mother will get upset if she saw me playing with other kids, or will she?
