"I'm backing out."
"No, Nora. You are going to go there and pretend to be the carefree girl I know," She gesticulates as she takes a sip out of her hot coffee that was swirling its aroma around the environment.
"I can't go on a date with someone I don't know!" I complain, concurrently tossing away all the time I spent looking towards today. Apart from fulfilling my To-do list, Veronica and I had gone shopping because the kind of clothing I possessed wasn't the type she thought will fit Tommo.
"We've talked about this already. There's nothing to fear. You are going to spend two good hours hanging out with Tommo, and if any problems arise, you are always free to text or dial my number," Veronica expresses herself lucidly, tracing her index finger around the edges of the coffee cup. I inhale sharply, and exhale through my mouth, shaking my head in disapproval.
"Promise you'd pick up the phone if I call?"
"Promise." She looks up at me and grins, waiting until the moment I break open.
"And I should follow the directions you wrote on this paper?" I pull out the crumbled little paper from my jeans' right pocket, straightening it out as I look at the inked words.
"Yes."
"Then I should go now," I give Veronica a wry smile, and get up, pulling the hem of my T-shirt downwards. I never wore skinny jeans and band printed T-shirts. This outfit has far been the most comfortable yet, weird clothing I own. I never wore band T-shirts because my mother always said, "People who wear such are not classy, and you my dear, come from a very wealthy family. We don't allow such nonsense."
"Details as soon as you're done," She winks and I set on my heels until I whip my body backwards and rush towards the table, digging my purse out of my hand bag to pay.
"It's on me," Veronica immediately says.
"Sure? I will pay you if we meet tomorrow," I propose to her my idea but she shakes her head.
"Fine." I groan and go back to walking forwards. Pulling the door inwards, I hear Veronica's voice.
"Have fun." I semi-turn my head and smile before leaving. Coming out, there was no sun to shine its rays on my pale skin. I look to either my directions, and shake my head, mentally cursing Veronica's existence. If I hadn't agreed to that dating site three days ago, I won't be battling about it. I take out the paper again and re-read the directions. I knew the distance will be too long for me to walk, so taking a Taxi will be the best option. I owned no car, which leads me to always taking a Taxi.

"Thank you," I appreciate the driver as I open the car door.
"Welcome, ma'am," with that, the car drives away, and leaves me standing alone, watching the adolescences skate. Some looking my age and older, I walk a little further, my eyes pausing to read a sign written in black block letters on a white sign board, warning whoever passed by.
Skate at your own risk.
This place is dangerous. Tommo, the one and only Tommo, thinks bringing a girl you never met to a skating park is decent? Who the hell thinks that way?
I was slowly shedding my mind away until I saw the boy in picture come to life. He held his head high, eyes focused on one of the girls talking to him. He seemed to fake a smile as one of them cracked a joke. How did I know he faked a smile? I always recognize people who fake smiles because I was the queen of one. All of the girls exhibited signs of interests, but Tommo, I suppose, did not return any interest back. They tried shoving their chest into his face, but he just stood there, discomfort swarming its way through his bones. Once his eyes turned to meet mine, I abruptly jerked my head to another direction, pretending that I have been looking around.
