Last week Joe had come over to your house because he was bored and at the end of the night he asked you if you wanted to go out on a date.
Today is the day that yourself and Joe are going out on that date.
You texted Joe last night and tried to find out what you are doing but all you found out was to wear something casual and he'll pick you up at 12:00.
It was now 12:00 and you were waiting for Joe to arrive at the door and two minutes later he did, with a picnic basket in hand.
'Hey, are you ready to go?' Joe asks once you open the door.
'Yeah, let's go.' You say smiling and you walk out the door, closing it and locking it behind you.
'So, where are we going?' You ask as you start walking down the street.
'Well I thought we could have a picnic, hence the basket, then we can do whatever after.' Joe says smiling at you.
You continue walking down the street and find yourselves at Regent's Park (if you don't know where that is its a park in London).
Once you find a spot in the busy park, you lay the blanket down on the grass and take a seat as Joe takes food and drinks out of the basket.
It felt strange, knowing this was a date, as I had known Joe for around 4 years and I never thought we would be going on a date. I was worried if we felt like we had to date as everyone 'shipped' us off or on screen.
Once we had finished our lunch we sat and relaxed, talking about anything and everything.
We looked over to the lake in front of us and seen people on paddle boats.
'Do you wanna go on one?' Joe asks and I nod.
We go over and pay for one, the man letting us put our basket behind the stall.
We climb into the boat and I let Joe take control of the boat knowing that I will probably crash it into someone.
It was nice, the sun beaming down on us whilst we mess around on the boat, making it shake from side to side thinking we're going to fall out or splashing one another.
Once the time was up for us to come out we start making our way back to my house.
'I'll see you later.' Joe says smiling, it was the first time I had ever seen him nervous.
'Yeah, I'll see you later, thank you for today.' I say, smiling, before kissing his cheek softly.
