Chapter 16

Maya's POV: Same time than Lucas when he talked to Farkle and Zay.

I walked to the girl's bathroom, very slowly since Lucas wasn't helping me. I heard sobbing as I opened the door, I saw a devastated Riley sat by the wall.

"Riley I need to tell you something, and please... Don't get mad because I didn't tell you"

Riley didn't say anything,
"So... I lied about the car accident and about breaking up with Charlie..." I heard her chuckle, I continued
"It has been two years that.... Well that..." I started to tear up
"That Charlie was beating me... Each and everyday for two years.." I cried
"And.. And... And I wanted to tell everyone so they could help me... But... But he said that he would do worse is he finds me again... And... When I got into that assignment with Lucas and he said those words... I mouthed him to help me... And... The afternoon we didn't hang out with you guys because Lucas was going to my apartment... And once there I took of my clothes and be saw my body... Full of scars and bruises.... And.. Then Charlie came, Lucas hid himself in the bathroom and he saw and heard Charlie beating me, then he came to me and saved me, that's why he beat up Charlie we first and that's why he was at the hospital too. Then... I was in a coma, he didn't tell you the truth because I asked him not to, and he respected that... Then Josh asked me on a date, and when I went on that date Josh appeared to beat me too, Lucas came in time and saved me, he hurt Josh maybe more than he hurt Charlie, for real I don't even know because I couldn't see anything when it was with Charlie.." I cried even more
"Then... Then... Then I for traumatized... I couldn't talk move or react, even when Lucas was the sweetest and did and said all those things I wanted to blush, but I couldn't... But now look at me, I'm broken, I'm broken and you know it, but I fought, I fought for my fucking life I live and I came back stronger than ever, and I finally found the right person for me, the one that has always been sweetest to me and the one to protect me for everything.. Lucas"

Riley cried even more and stood up. She came towards me and hugged me, she didn't say anything thought.

She ran towards the door and walked out, I tried to walk out too with my crutch, I slowly pushed the door and Lucas saw me, Farkle and Zay by his side, they all hugged me

"I'm sorry Maya for not seeing anything" Farkle said

"Hey Maya I told ya Lucas was perfect for you" Zay said

That's true, Zay apparently saw how much Lucas loved me so he was coming to me everyday telling me how perfect he was for me,

"Thanks Zay for making me laugh all the time"

I backed away and faced Lucas

"And you, thank you, thank you for saving me, thank you for being there for and and for believing in me, I would never do it if it wasn't for you, you risked your life for me, all I could do was pushing myself to finally talk... I'm in love you with you, it's crazy how I never see it after all these years" I kissed him, he kissed back and we stayed like this for some seconds.

We pulled away and we stared into each other's eyes, then Mr Matthews came with Riley dragging him.

"Maya, my dad's here, talk to him" Riley told me

I nodded as I went into some private space with Mr Matthews.

"Maya, Riley told me in a hurry and if you don't want to explain me all I understand, why didn't you tell me ? Us before ? I know he said he would have do worse but if we knew from the start he would be in jail or in prison... And all of these stuff wouldn't be happening.
You must be frustrated about what happened and I'm sure that's why you pushed my daughter when she did nothing wrong"
