Hello?

*Joshua's pov*
I sent Colleen the text message three days ago. Still no reply. I guess I just have to except the fact the she doesn't want me back. Or even as a friend at least. Just as I am thinking about the situation, my phone rings. "Hello?" I ask sounding tired. "Josh." I hear on the other side of the phone. I sit up fast with my eyes wide open. "Colleen?" I say shocked. "yeah. it's me." she says sounding weak. "Are you okay what's wrong?" I question. "yes I'm just asking myself if I'm doing the right thing." she whispers. "thank you for calling." I tell her. "I miss you, Colleen." I add. "Josh," she says. "I can't be with you. I don't want you to be hurt or get in trouble." she says. "Colleen I'm protecting you. I want you to be safe and alive." I said. "and I want to protect our child and for her to be safe and alive." she says. "what about you?" I ask in a soft voice. "I'll be just fine." she promises. I could tell by the tone of her voice, she was giving a fake smile. "can I see you? forest?" I ask. "no." she responds quickly. "I can't. I have to go. bye." she says then hangs up. That was very strange. As soon as I mentioned to meet she had to go. She probably just had to go to bed I don't need to worry. Right?

*Colleen's pov*
I told Josh i had to go because I didn't want to say something or do anything I would regret. I hang up and I feel sharp pain stab my lower back. I arch back and start shaking my head. "no no no not now." I whisper to myself. I close my eyes and breath in and out slowly. I calm down and it stops. I lay down and shut my eyes. This better not be happening. Not now.
