Chapter 28

After the wonderful news I received today I told my family that I was preparing dinner and to be home by seven.

I was thinking of inviting Niall to share the news with him as well but decided against it. I wanted my family to be the first to know.

Currently I was finishing up dessert and setting the table. I wanted things to go good tonight. I was really happy about the news I received especially because I worked extremely hard for this. 

"Hey Lu" Louis said as he walked into the kitchen.

"Hey " I smiled. I was in a very good mood.

"So what's the occasion?" He asked.

"What I can't just make dinner for my family?" I questioned him.

"Yeah right." He laughed.

"you'll find out." I rolled my eyes.

"Is it the news of you and Niall being back together ?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows.

"We're not back together." I corrected him.

"Wait seriously?" He asked and I nodded in response. "You're all he talks about I figured you guys were back together."  He finished. His comment made me blush. Did Niall really talk about me a lot?

"Here put this on the table. " I told him handing him the pot where the spaghetti was in. He obeyed and walked out the kitchen and into the dining room. 

Twenty minutes later we were all sat around the table eating.

"So sweet heart what's the occasion?" My mom asked with a soft smile.

"Well okay so my freshman year I talked to my counselor about graduating a year early." I started, everyone's attention focused on me. "Back then she told me that she was gonna try her best to help me out but I needed to stay focused and keep my grades up. She said she would also help me get all the credits I would need by the end of this year ." I continued.

"Well today I got called into her office and was told that I would be graduating by the end of this year, and because my grades were constant and good she said she would try to help me get a scholarship to the college of my choice. It's nothing set in stone but she said she would help." I rambled.  I took a breath after I finished picking up my glass of water and taking a long sip from it.

I looked up to find all of them with smiles on their face.

"Honey that's wonderful." My mom clapped and quickly got up to give me a hug. "Both my babies graduating in one year." She said bringing Louis in for a hug as well. "You guys are growing up to fast." She finished tears welling up in her eyes.

"Mom don't cry." I chuckled. "Sorry I'm just so proud of you." She smiled her hands in both sides of my face.

Louis hugged me as well "I'm proud of you too kid." He smiled.

Followed by Louis was Mike, he might be new to the family but it's like he has lived with us forever "congratulations Lucy I'm happy for you." He said kissing the top of my head and giving me a hug.

"Thank you Mikey" I smiled. He just rolled his eyes at the little nick name I gave him before him and mom got married.

"Mom please stop crying." I laughed.

"Oh I'm sorry." She chuckled wiping away her tears.

"Ok so since you shared your news it's my turn ." She said walking over to Mike. He wrapped his arm around her waist and she wrapped hers around his torso.

"We're pregnant" she half yelled with the biggest smile on her face.  Well this would explain why she cried when I told her I would graduate early and why she drink any whine.

"Wait seriously oh my god" I said with the biggest smile on my face. I got up extremely quick and hugged my mom and Mike.  Louis let out laugh and got up to hug them as well.

"This is great I'll finally have a sibling that I'm going to like." Louis shouted hugging mom some more.

"Hey" I whined slapping the back of his head. "I'm kidding I love you." He smiled hugging both mom and I. "Yeah, yeah" I chuckled.

"Good job Mike." I told him giving him a thumbs up.

"I tried my best." He chuckled. 

Mom overheard us and hit Mike on the arm "Hey it wasn't all you." She told him. 

"Ok I've heard enough thanks." I mumbled walking to get dessert. 

* * * * * * * * * *
"Can you believe this? " Louis asked. 

It was a couple of hours after dinner mom and Mike went to bed so it was just Louis and I sitting in the living room watching a movie.

"What, that mom is pregnant?" I asked.

"Yes after seventeen years." He chuckled "that and that we'll both be leaving after this year." He finished.

"You know I think the reason she cried when you gave her the news apart from being pregnant is because you're not supposed to be growing up so fast." He started. I looked over at him waiting for him to finish. "She thought she had another year with you here. She wasn't ready for both of us to leave at the same time." He finished.

"I know but hey there is a baby on the way. He or she will keep her occupied. She won't even notice that we're both gone." I said, trying to convince myself more than him.

"She'll notice Lucy. It's ok though she knew this time would come and like you said she'll have the baby and it's not like we'll be leaving and never coming back." He stated focusing back on the movie.  "I'm proud of you. I know I already told you but I really am. Even after what you went through with Niall you still focused on your goal and didn't let it go. Man I'm one proud big brother." He smiled at himself.

"You're such a cheeseball." I laughed. "But thank you, for everything." I smiled at him.

"Hey I'm going to be a big sister." I told him as if he didn't already know.

"It's not all that special, younger siblings are a pain in the ass" he told me not even looking away from the tv. I threw a pillow at him hitting him on the side of his face making him burst out laughing. 

"Good night Lou ." I mumbled walking over to him to place a kiss at the top of his head.

"Goodnight Lu" he replied.

Awww.

I don't have any siblings but they are goals.
