• Chapter 8

I walked in and saw Maura, Niall's mom, talking to my guitar teacher. I'm assuming she came to pick Niall's schedule and she stopped to say hi to him. After all his family and Mr. Jones were very good friends.

I haven't talked to her ever since Niall left. I loved his family, they were as loud and fun as he was. I smiled at the thought of them.

I walked in trying my best to not catch her attention. I don't want this be an awkward situation. 

She would always tell that if me and her son ever ended things, she wanted me to continue visiting her.  I would always smile and reassure her that I would always stay in contact with her.

That obviously didn't happen, and although I would've loved to visit her.  I just don't think I would of been able to be in the same house her son was in month's before, and all of his picture's surrounding me. 

"Hey Dylan. " I greeted taking my seat next to him. 

"Hey Lucy." He greeted back.

He was strumming on his guitar, while I took mine out of my case. This was honestly my favorite class out of all of the one's I have. 
I looked over to where Maura and Mr. Jones were previously standing, and noticed Maura was already looking over towards my direction.

She had a slight smile on her face with a warm look in her eyes.  I slightly waved at her and looked away from her. I decided to ignore the fact that my ex boyfriends mom was in the same room as me and started a conversation with Dylan. 

"So Dylan ,Zoe and I have plans on ditching after lunch. You can join if you'd like. " I informed him. 

"Sounds like a plan." He answered. I wasn't sure if he was the type to ditch class but I'm glad he decided to join. In the month that he's been here I've gotten to really know him.  He's a really cool guy he likes a lot of the same stuff I like and he's really funny. 

"Is there something on my face?" I heard him ask.

"What?" I bluntly asked. 

"You were staring at me I thought I had something on my face. Do I? " He asked letting out a small chuckle.  Well that's awkward. I let out a small laugh at shook my head no. 

A few minutes later Maura was gone and Mr. Jones was back to teaching.

"So you guy's down? " Zoe asked Zack and Jake. I knew Jake was down he was my partner in crime after all.

Jake looked over at me and smirked and I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Guy's can you stop giving each other signals through your face it's gross. " Zoe interrupted the silent conversation we were having.

"Gross? " I laughed. How is it gross?  What's gross is when her and Zack are practically sucking each others faces off while we're trying to eat. 

"Anyway yes or no? " She asked again.

"I'm down for sure" Jake nodded his head stealing a french fry from my plate. 

"I don't know guy's.. " Zack said sounding unsure. 

"Oh c'mon Zack we're all going, might as well join. " I rolled my eyes at him.

"All of you, even new kid? " He asked.  Dylan has been here for an entire month and he still calls him new kid. 

"yeah " I replied.

"Ok I'm in." He looked over at Zoe. She smiled at him and waved her hands.

I knew telling him Dylan was going was a good idea.  He still seems to be in this overprotective mode with Zoe.

"Great so when the bell rings to dismiss us from lunch we leave." I told them.

"Who goes with who? " Dylan asked.

"Lucy rides with me. " Jake answered immediately. We all looked at him and he just shrugged. 

"What? Dylan can ride with me too if he knows what's best for him. "  He raised his eyebrows at Dylan.

"You guy's are gross in a car together. " He continued, referring to Zoe and Zack. They both had shocked expressions on their face. 

"It's true. " I laughed.  They truly were, he always had his hand on her thigh and she would always giggle. Disgusting. Especially with Jake and I in the car we prefered to think they kept their relationship in a pg level.

"Yeah I think I'll ride with them" Dylan decided. Zoe and Zack both looked shocked at what just went on in front of them.

Just in time the bell rung, we rushed out of the lunch room and ran to the parking lot. 

We got in the car and drove off immediately. Jake called Zack to decide where we should meet up, and we all decided on a small coffee shop that was couple of blocks away from the school. 

"Hey Jake. " I spoke up. 

"hmm" was his reply. 

"Thanks." I said.  He looked over at me for a brief second and looked back at the road. 

"for what? " He asked clearly confued. 

"For not letting me ride with them." I said being completely serious. He obviously thought I was joking and started laughing.

"No problem kid. "  He said shaking his head at me. 

We finally arrived at the small coffee shop. We walked inside to find Zack and Zoe sitting in a booth already.  He was whispering something in her ear and she was giggling. These two seriously don't know when or where it's ok to do that.

"You guy's are gross. " I said sliding into the booth. They hadn't noticed us walk in because  Zack immediately got his mouth out of Zoe's ear, while she started blushing.

"Sure are." Dylan agreed.

"Alright so now that we've established that they're gross." Jake started . "Where do you guy's want to go from here?" he asked. 

I didn't really have anything planned after this, I thought maybe they would already have something in mind.

"I heard there was a carnival coming into town this weekend." Dylan informed us. "It's Friday which means it's already here we could go there. " He suggested.

"Yeah we should.  I love carnivals" I exclaimed.

"Alright then it's settled carnival it is. " Zack said. We made our way out of the coffee shop and into the parking lot. The guy's who were driving got together to see where the carnival was. 

"Hey guy's I'm going to go get a coffee while you guy's do whatever your doing." I let them know before walking back into the coffee shop. 

"Can I get a large iced coffee please." I told the lady behind the counter.  Two minute's later my coffee was ready, I was trying to put the straw in when I bumped into someone making me drop my straw. I really need to start paying attention to where I'm going. 

"We really need to start watching where we're going. We don't want this to happen a third time. " I heard the familiar voice say.

I looked up and I felt my heart drop to my stomach. 

"Hey Lucy. " Niall said.
