My Sad Endings

~Sacrifice~

I look into the eyes of my lover. I had to tell him. He had to know. I felt a hand cup my cheek.

"Isabelle what's wrong?" Lawrence asked. I smile as tears filled my eyes.

"I'm the only one who can stop this whole thing," I told him.

"What do you mean? All you need to do is plant the seed and our Soul Tree will capture back the demons." Tears rolled down my cheeks.

"I'm the seed Lawrence. I have to sacrifice my life for the Soul Tree to live again."

"That can't be right. We just got together. I... I can't lose you again," he said. I could his eyes glisten over.

"I have to go before they kill everyone. I know I won't be back, but I'll still be alive." I turn towards the tree. "I'll be alive in the Soul Tree."

"You need to let her go." I turn to see my grandfather.

"How?"

"She's the seed to the Soul Tree. In the beginning she was the seed. She'll save us all, but we have to let her go if we want to be saved," he said. I look at the seed in my hand.

"I'm ready," I told them.

"Isabelle wait!" I turn and fly lips press against mine. I savour the moment since it'll be my last time kissing my lover. I pull away and look into Lawrence's eyes.

"You'll find another lover, but I want you to know even though I'm gone I'll still love you. Please don't forget me." I take off my pendent necklace and gave it to Lawrence. I turn around and look at the tree. I walk towards the entrance and look back.

I was leaving behind a lot, but it was worth it. I walk inside the tree and I could hear my name being called by the Soul Tree. I smile and cried at the same time.

"Isabelle my name is Soul. I am the power living inside of the Soul Tree. Are you prepared to sacrifice your own life to save our tree?"

"Yes. I am ready."

"Then come towards the light. You will feel no pain." I see a bright light in front of me and I walk towards it.
