Chapter 4

Natalie's Point of View
After I thought about, and denied, the possible crush I had on Justin, I just stood there, staring back at him. I didn't know what to say. I eventually got curious during the silence between us, wondering why he had been here when I came out of my bathroom.

"So what did you come up here for?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "Just wanted to see if you were alright..."

He's so sweet. "It's okay. I'm fine," I said, rubbing my eyes. They were a little irritated from wiping the makeup off.

"You okay?" he asked. I stopped rubbing my eyes and nodded.

"Yeah I'm fine," I said smiling. He walked over to me and gave me a hug. I could smell the cologne he was wearing as he hugged me. I always loved the smell of cologne on guys... After he pulled away from the hug, he walked past me, toward my nightstand. He picked up my Someday perfume. I covered my face with my hands. How embarrassing!

"So..." he said, "you wear Someday?"

I peaked a hole through my hands and looked at him, nodding. He laughed. I took my hands away from my face and laughed too. As we laughed, I caught myself in a trance at how cute and attractive he was... Jeez, I think I'm starting to like Justin more than I should! Like in a crush sort of way, which is exactly what I was worried about... And tried for, what, a minute to avoid? Whatever. It's just a crush.

"So why won't your mom let you date?" he asked suddenly, interrupting me from my thoughts. I thought for a second then shrugged.

"I don't really know. But knowing her, she probably has some stupid reason why."

He laughed. "Maybe your mom just wants you to wait till your older or something."

"Nope that's not it," I said, "because she let Selena have her first boyfriend at fifteen. And I'm not even fifteen. I'm sixteen."

"That's weird," he said. "Why won't she let you then?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. And I keep trying to date Austin behind her back, but she keeps finding out about it," I said. "It's really annoying. I don't know how she keeps finding out."

Just then, Selly walked in the door. She had a sleepy look on her face. I guess she just woke up from the nap she was taking on the couch.

"Justin...? What are you doing in Natalie's room?" she asked. Then she yawned and said, "Actually, I don't even care. Just go home. I'm tired. I wanna go to bed."

He laughed. "How about a hug first?"

Selly sighed as he walked over to her. I could tell she was really tired and just wanted to go to bed. He grabbed her in his arms, embracing her in a hug. I felt a little jealous watching him hug her. She laughed and pushed him off her.

"Okay now go," she said with a smile on her face.

"No kiss?" he asked. She rolled her eyes and put a sloppy peck on his lips, then walked out of my room.

"What was that?!" he yelled as she walked off. I heard her laughing. He turned around and looked at me, opening his arms. I smiled. Now it was my turn. I walked over to him. He hugged me, then pulled away and smiled.

"What about you?" he asked. "How about a kiss?"

I raised an eyebrow. Was he serious? He laughed at the look I was giving him. "I'm just kidding," he said. He gave me another hug then turned and went down the stairs. I threw myself on my bed and sighed. I couldn't help but wish he hadn't been.
