Chapter 15

Natalie's Point of View

After Justin drove me home, I went to my room and laid down on my bed. Selena walked into my room, her arms folded across her chest. I sat up and rolled my eyes at her. "Selena, what is it? I'm really tired."

"I would be too if I spent the whole day with Justin," she said. I froze.

"What are you talking about..." I said slowly.

"I heard a car pull up and when I looked out the window, I saw him dropping you off," she said. "What were you doing out with him?"

"It's a long story," I said, thinking back to the sleepover and everything that had happened.

"I want every detail," Selena said, sitting down on my bed, her arms still crossed. She looked beyond pissed.

"Well you ditched Justin to hang out with Ashley, and he came here looking for you," I said.

"Oh yeah... We were supposed to hang out..." Selena said.

"Yeah well, I was having a sleepover with the girls and I felt bad for him, so I told him he could stay."

"And what made you think that was okay?" she snapped.

I looked down and stood quiet. Then all of a sudden, I looked up at her and said, "Well what made YOU think it was okay to ditch him?"

"Excuse me?" Selena said, taken back by my sudden outburst. "That's none of your business. And for your information, I didn't ditch him... I just forgot we had plans."

"Alright well I felt bad for him. He told me you guys had reservations and when I told him you were out with Ash, he looked really disappointed. So I told him he could chill with us."

"Whatever," Selena said, rolling her eyes. "How does any of this explain why you were with him again today?"

"One of my friends gave him my number as a joke and this morning, Justin called me asking if I wanted to hang out. He said he wasn't doing anything."

"If he wasn't doing anything, he should of asked me to hang out, not you..." she said rudely.

"Well he didn't," I said. "Feel free to shut the door on your way out."

Selena got up from my bed and left my room, mumbling the word "bitch" as she did and slamming the door behind her. I laid back on my bed. I sighed, closed my eyes, and thought about Justin till I fell asleep.

~ two days later ~

I was in the kitchen looking through the fridge for something to eat, when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. It was an unknown number. I hesitantly answered. "Hello?"

"Hey... It's me..." the voice said.

"Justin?" I asked, recognizing his raspy voice. I whispered his name because Selena was upstairs, and I didn't want her to hear me.

"Yeah."

"What's up?" I asked.

"I miss you."

My heart fluttered. He misses me... I wanted to say that I missed him too, but instead all I said was, "Oh."

"You don't miss me too?" he asked.

"No..." I lied.

"Yes you do," he said. I stood quiet. "See? You do," he said.

"Justin..."

"No, listen. I know you don't wanna get between me and your sister, but you don't have to lie and say you don't miss me..." he said.

"Fine. I do," I said.

"You what?" he asked.

"I miss you," I said.

"Sorry, I couldn't hear you. Say that again?"

"I miss you!" I practically yelled. I could hear him chuckling on the other side of the phone. I looked around, hoping Selena didn't hear me.

"Let's hang out," he said.

"I don't know..."

"I wasn't really asking."

"What?" I asked.

"Get ready. I'll be there soon."

"What do you mean you'll be here soon? I-"

I heard him laugh followed by the sound of him hanging up.
