                      LABYRINTH

For a while, Katerina has come to terms with the death of her family. Although she dearly missed her mother, she knew that it was her fault and that they were in a better place.

She was in a better place. Looking up in the mirror, her olive skin shines as the morning sun glows in through the windows. As her hand maiden, Tabitha, combed through her hair, she hums a song she has heard everyday since she had arrived to the kingdom. Elizabeth's kingdom.

She had envied the woman for having so many loyal people bow down to her every command. Elizabeth would always tell her that loyalty lies within the heart of those who respect you. If there was no respect, who would you be.

Looking down at her chest, she grasped the amulet her mother gave her as a knock on her door sounds through her room.

Her nerves get the best of her as she speeds to the door, opening it wide. She lets out a sigh of relief when she sees Zachariah, and he smiles at her brightly.

"Elizabeth is looking for you, Miss Petrova." Katerina smiles lightly, sending a look of farewell to Tabitha.

Walking down the hall, she steps foot into the dinning room to see Elizabeth at the far end of the table, being accompanied by many others who surrounded her.

Elizabeth looks up when a she hears a cough and smiles when she catches the eyes of the woman she has come to adore.

Katerina feels her heart warm at the sight of the woman she's come to admires eye and blushes slightly.

Looking around, she walks forward silently to Elizabeth, her hands clammy.

"Who are all these people Elizabeth?" Katerina purses her lips, trying her hardest not to go to the nearest human and suck them dry.

She turns slightly to the side when she feels her face start to change and she holds her breathe to stop herself.

Feeling a hand wrap around her forearm, she is pulled to a corner. Breathing heavily, she looks up at her savior, coming face to face with Elizabeth, who has a worried look on her face.

"Why have you not learned control yet? We have been here for many days and nights, Katerina." her voice scolds, making Katerina uneasy. Elizabeth always talks to her proper, and with Katerina still learning English, it's hard to understand the feel of her words.

"I am sorry. I have been trying but it seems to be useless. I am weak-"

"Then learn to be strong." Elizabeth snaps at her, causing Katerina to step back in fear. The woman sighs, pulling Katerina in, "There are other vampire in this world Katerina, who are strong and brave and you are not one of them," Katerina takes a breath in, her anger increasing at Elizabeth's words, "You are to be better." Elizabeth smiles, her finger gliding across her lovers skin, "Because you have something to fight for. You have something to fight against."

Elizabeth takes a step back as she hears footsteps coming. She lifts her chin up and shoulders back and stares at Katerina, who stares back, with intensity. "Klaus will be coming for us my dearest. It is time to prepare."

Elizabeth walks away, leaving Katerina with her mind blazing about. Katerina took her saviors words into account and sighs, feeling her breath come out stronger.

You are not one of them.

Katerina shifts slightly, her gaze being caught in the mirror beside her.

You are better.

Her face starts to change and she gasps, her fingers grazing the veins surrounding her eyes.

You have something to fight for.

Her face goes back to normal, her breathing begins to slow.

She stares in the mirror at her self, her eyes meeting her own and she raised her head high.

"I am not weak."

She thinks about her mother and sister. How much in that moment she felt weak and defenseless. She thinks about Klaus and Elijah. and their taunting stare.

She stares down at her mothers gift and looks back up, smirking at herself through the mirror, she walks away, toward the table where all men and woman, including her savior, sat, speaking soundlessly.

"I want to be queen." her voice booms, a strong aura radiating off of her, catching everyone's attention. With eyes wide, and mouths hung open, they stare at the woman at the end of the table.

Katerina feels the hair on her neck rise when the woman before her raises her head with a smile.

"Then you shall be."

Gosh, I love them. Comment what you think?
