                       LABYRINTH

"Beautiful isn't it?"

Katerina jumps at the sudden voice, twirling around in surprise. She squinted to see Elizabeth walking towards her with a smile, her evening gown flowing behind her, gold and beautiful.

She feels a smile creep it's way to her lips, not helping herself. The woman before her had always had an affect on her and she wasn't complaining. She has been smiling a lot lately around Elizabeth and she was grateful.

"But not as beautiful as you so they say." Elizabeth sends Katerina a small smirk causing her to smile mockingly, loving this side of Elizabeth the most. "They?"

"Yes, all the warriors are talking about it you know."

If Katerina could blush again, she felt that now would be that moment. She glances down smiling before looking up again to see Elizabeth staring at her fondly.

"That's too bad."

Elizabeth's eyes brows raise, mind proud of the fact that her English has improved and she smiles, eyes never leaving the daisies in front of her.

"May I ask why that is?" Elizabeth mutters, her voice getting deeper as she listens closely to Katerina, fingers pricking at the flowers.

Katerina lifts her chin and pushes her shoulders back, staring at the woman in front of her. She stares at her fingers as it plays with the daisy, up her arms, along her exposed neck. Katerina suddenly feels a lump in her throat moving her eyes away, biting her lip. She shakes her head at the feeling she endured turning back to speak only to find Elizabeth sitting on the ground, daisies all around her.

"What do you wish to be in the future?" Katerina stands shocked at the sudden question, knowing no one has ever asked her such one before.

Elizabeth waits patiently on the ground, internally smirking at catching Katerina staring at her, quite intensely she noticed.

The grass crunches, signaling Katerina had finally sat down. She glances up seeing Katerina playing with her fingers and she smiles, loving the site in front of her.

"I have always loved dancing." she says quietly, her hair falling to her face. She remembers her sister would sing and take Katerina by the hand and twirl around their room. They had once went about it all night when it was Katerina's birthday. It was one of her happiest memory.

Then her mind wanders as she remembers Niklaus pulling her to the center of the floor, smiling down at her so fondly, Elijah the next night, holding her tightly. Then the monstrous face of them both.

"Katerina.."

She feels her cheeks warm and she realizes Elizabeth was wiping away her tears. She pulls back surprised and coughs, wiping the rest of her tears.

"I did not realize, my apologies." Katerina stutters, internally scolding for being so oblivious to her thoughts and surroundings, crying in front of one of the most beautiful woman she has ever seen.

"There's no need to apologize Katerina. You are in fact beautiful in every way possible." Elizabeth whispers to her, minding the fact that she just couldn't help herself to compliment the woman that's taken hold of her. Her dire need and want to grab her hand and place a gentle kiss on it but she knew it was crossing boundaries.

But deep down Katerina yearned for that kind of affection. She just didn't know what she felt for Elizabeth. Although she knew she felt something.

"Thank you, you are very kind to me." Katerina bowed her head, hands close to shaking by the fact Elizabeth was looking at her with that such a fierce gaze in her eyes. She never could decipher what is was and she never wanted to find out, she felt some way safe not knowing.

Elizabeth smiled at the woman in front of her, nerves on alert. She had heard Zachariah calling for her but she dismissed it, eyes settled on Katerina when she glanced back to see him. She sent him a small smile, turning back to Elizabeth.

"I love dancing as well. We shall try together sometime."
