One week later

Midnight. Again. I sat on Gianluca's bed, watching the scratches on his face, which were luckily better than before. "That's good!" I whispered when I let my finger go over it. Sometimes the others were visiting Gianluca too but it was me who really stayed beside him every single minute, watching him breath. Other things didn't happen, unfortunatelly.

On some moments I started to lose hope. I didn't believe it anymore. He was already in the hospital for a week and a half or more. Or maybe less. I had never been good in estimating what time it was. But was this not very long to stay in a coma?

I swear I saw him move again. This time for real. "Gi..Gianluca?" I asked shocked. I jumped of the bed and hang with my face barely 20 centimeters above his. "Gianluca?" I touched his face hoping he could feel it. Maybe it could be a trigger to wake him up. "Gianluca?" Inside I was praying he finaly would wake up. But the only thing I could say out loud was his name. Since he didn't respond anymore, I took my phone to call to his mom. "I...I think.I saw him move, I screamed through the phone instantly.

A few minutes later his parents arrived. But actually my hope was gone again. "I'm so sorry," I cried, "I think I...I was wrong!" I saw the hope in their eyes leave immediately, just like mine. "Don't worry!" Ercole said. "He...he will wake up soon." But I could see he didn't believe it himself.

Two hours later

Gianluca's parents were gone again, to sleep for a while. I almost fell asleep as well, on the chair next to his bed. But then it happened again. His right finger, from the not broken arm, lifted in the air. Although it was only a centimeter, I saw it move and I knew for sure it was really happening this time! "Gianluca, do you hear me?" I was aware he probably could. So I said it loud and clear. "Gianluca...open your eyes!" I waited for a few seconds but still no reaction. I stood next to his bed and just watched him. His eyes, his arms, his fingers, his mouth. I watched it one by one, over and over again. I smiled like a child when it happened again. This time I clearly saw his eyelashes move a bit. "Yes! Come on Gianluca! You can do it!" Without looking away from him, I tried to take my phone and call his parents again. "It's gonna happen...NOW!" I said. Then I let my phone fall out of my hands. I let it go. The phone was not important anymore. I was still looking at Gianluca like it was a game and I wasn't allowed to watch anything else but him. And then it happened! He slowly opened his eyes. "Gianluca, thank God, you're back!" Finaly I could see his beautiful brown eyes again. Finaly! "No no no, don,t close your eyes again!" I said worried when I saw him close the most gorgeous eyes after he just opened them. He listened to me and seemed already more aware he was awake. "Are you alright?" I asked. Stupid question, of course not because he just came out of a coma. He didn't say a single thing. "Gianluca? Do you hear me?" I tried. I realised I had to notify the doctor or nurses so I pushed the button and then tried to talk to Gianluca again. "Gianluca...It's me! Aline."

Finaly he opened his mouth. "Where am I?" he asked weak. "In the hospital, you had an accident with the car!" I said quick but after that I told him that everything was okay then, because I probably made him panic when I told him what happened. He looked down at his broken arm. Confused. I realised he was not entirely aware what had happened or where he was so I let him and didn't say a word anymore. I just watched and waited for him to say something. Inside I was happy happy happy! Gianluca just woke up, could think and speak, breath and see things, so he was alright I told myself. But then he opened his mouth again to say something. I smiled to him, waiting patiently for what he wanted to say.

"Who are you?"
