Emma and Killian walked along the beach. Killian was wearing a black polo and jeans, he held his shoes in his hand. He had combed his hair, and left it perfectly tousled. Emma, on the other hand looked far dressier. She wore a short red dress, the black heels dangling from one of her hands. The other was entangled in Killian's. Her hair was up in a high ponytail with a small bump, the ends curled loosely. She had small pearl studs, and a simple gold necklace Killian had given her for her birthday the previous year.

"So, I noticed that you're wearing that necklace again." Killian said, filling the silence Emma was particularly enjoying.

"Do you not want me to?" Emma asked, looking at him quizzically.

"No! I just hadn't realized that you like it so much..." He looked down at the ground.

"I do. It's quite beautiful, thank you love." Emma glanced down at the necklace, then back at him.

Killian stopped walking. "Emma," he looked down at her abdomen, the dress was slightly tighter than normal. He placed his hand on her stomach. "This isn't exactly how I'd imagined this, but it seems like the best time." He reached into his pocket, and Emma released his hand.

He pulled out a small black velvet box, and Emma gasped softly. Killian set his shoes down in the sand and knelt to the ground, and pulled out a ring and said, "Emma, you know I love you. At least you should know... Um. I'm babbling, aren't I?"

Emma laughed and nodded her head.

"Uh anyway, I hoped you'd do me the huge honor of becoming my wife. So, Emma Swan, will you marry me?"

Emma's eyes opened and she was staring at her bedroom ceiling. She groaned and rolled over, her eyes adjusting to the light. She groaned again, just to call attention to fact that she didn't get to finish her pleasant dream. She began to think.

She was 17 weeks pregnant and was starting to show. She had been wearing baggier sweaters and jackets, but she obviously couldn't hide it from her parents much longer. But why should she be hiding it to begin with? She is a grown woman and she can make her own decisions, besides, she glanced down at her left hand.

"What?" She murmured.

Was it just a dream? It had felt so real. Like crazily real. Emma sighed, and reached up for the glass of water on her nightstand and brushed something onto the floor. She returned the glass back to the table, and leaned over to grab the object. When she finally saw it, her heart skipped a beat.

Emma gingerly grabbed a small black velvet box with a sticky note on the top. She sat up and read the note. She recognized the handwriting immediately.

I hope that you rethink your decision. -K

She flicked the box open, and a ring stared up at her.

"What the hell?!" Emma said to the box. She closed and reopened it just to check that she wasn't dreaming again.

She wasn't.

She grabbed her phone from the charger and looked at her recent calls. Four unaswered calls to her mom and one answered. She dialed her moms number again.

"Em? Hey how are ya?" Mary-Margaret asked cheerfully.

"Uh hi mom. Good morning I guess, I called you last night?"

"Yeah... You seemed pretty distraught. Almost in tears."

"I don't remember that."

"You don't? Really?"

"Not at all."

"Oh. Well, you called five times, and I was in the middle of," she paused briefly. "Something... But I-"

"Oh my god mom, did I interrupt you and dad?" Emma asked, horrified.

"No! We were just. I was. No. You didn't."

Emma could practically hear her mother blushing. She sighed softly.

"Okay. I'm just so confused. Did, did Killian propose last night?"

"Yes. And from what I understand, you said no."

"Why the hell would I say no?!"

"Emma! Watch your language young lady!"

"Geez. I'm an adult, mom. Calm down."

Mary-Margaret sighed into the phone.

"Hey thanks for refreshing me mom. I have to go. Love you!"

"We love you to Emma!"

Emma almost hung up but stopped herself. "Oh mom?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I come over this evening? I have something to tell you, and also, I'd like to see my brother."

"Of course! We'd love to have you!"

"Okay see you later."

"Mmhmm, bye Emma."

Emma hung up, and flopped back onto Killian's still made side of the bed. She sighed loudly, and dialed Killian's number. He picked up after one ring.

"Emma?" He sounded relieved to hear from her.

"I think I made a stupid decision..."
