I woke up the next day after my long talk with Dumbledore and Lupin. I yawned and looked at the bottom of my bed to find all my belongings and my Slytherin uniform. Blake cawed softly in my ear "morning Blakey" I got out of bed and got dressed. I walked down to the common room where I found my brother "finally you're up...come on!" He grabbed my wrist and dragged me to the great hall for breakfast. Professor Slughorn came over and handed the other first years their timetables leaving me last "it appears you have me first" I smiled "i've always had a knack for potions sir...if my brother has ever told you" he chuckled "oh yes indeed" he reached into his pocket and gave me another piece of parchement "from the headmaster" I nodded and he walked off "what was that about?" I glanced at Crow before tucking into my meal "nothing"

Soon Sapphire and two other Hufflepuffs walked in. Sapphire smiled and waved at me but I averted my gaze "why is that weakling waving at you?" I leaned in "she's no one Crow, I spoke to her before I came here" he didn't say a word after that. I glanced up and saw her hair turn blue, I hardly paid attention to the other two Hufflepuffs. My focus was on Sapphire, I don't want to hurt her but under the circumstances I can't risk anything.

We made our way to class and as I entered Potions I was slightly late since I got lost thanks to Peeves. I entered and took the last seat next to a girl from Griffindor called Bella and there was a girl opposite me which is in my house. She's called Donna, suprisingly enough we all got along despite the differences in house and personality

"Professor, I would much rather work at a table alone. She will only slow me down"

I glanced up and saw that Jackie boy. I growled softly.

"Mr Surola, that's not a very nice thing to say. I'm sure miss" glanced down at parchment "Bane will not 'slow you down'" and with that he walked away "serves you right" the other girls laughed. He glared at me "you honestly think you're better at potions then I am?" I nodded "yeah, I do actually...except I don't have a giant ego like yourself and broadcasting that you're perfect to everyone" he stood up "i'm not perfect! Not yet but i'm still leagues better than you" I grunted "as if" I sat down. Professor Slughorn came back and gave us all potion books "please turn to page 45 and follow the instuctions to make the Plant Accelerator" I flipped to the page and skimmed the ingredients and instructions "you will have 45 minutes to make the potion...oh and there is a prize for who can produce a superb batch. Begin!"

39 minutes later
"finished already miss Howler?" I nodded "yes sir" he brought over a small plant and collected one drop of the liquid and placed it in the soil. Within seconds it grew to 5x its size "Merlins beard! It is perfect much more successful then Mr Surola...perhaps you could identify where he went wrong?" I walked over and looked into his cauldron "why it's simple...he clearly crushed the beans instead of cutting them into tiny pieces so that the protein from the skin can react with the venom tonic" I glanced over at Sapphire cauldron "Sapphire here has done a fantastic job and has produced a batch that is equal to mine" I winked at her before walking back to my table and packed "what do you have now?" I looked over to Bella "DADA" her eyes widened "so do I!" I leaned over to her "how'd you get into a advanced class?" She shrugged "guess i've had a knack for it" I grinned and we both left to head to our Defence Against The Dark Arts class.
